A hotel with a interesting history, set in beautiful surroundings. Rooms are spacious and light with very comfortable beds, tv, mini bar / fridge and kettle (on request from bar area). Staff were polite and friendly and speak many languages so we had no problem. Just behind the hotel is a lovely restaurant called Canal, which over looks the canal and surrounding area.

"What a Neat Hotel", just a wonderful experience!

First, Google Maps is not correct, Google has the location on the wrong side of the main road. Find the fire station and the hotel is directly behind it.

Very quiet area, easy walk to/from the train station (10 minutes) and very safe. The staff was great, always - did I say always eager to help with directions or suggestions? AM breakfast is beyond adequate and with the most wonderful croissants. The rooms were large by European standards and clean. There is a restaurant on the canal just behind the hotel "Canal" with good food and some really good Belgium beers. Ask about the Italian Restaurant about 10 blocks away, amazing. This is not Pizza Hut or The Itanian Garden type of food, this is the real deal.

Getting to Brussels is only a few train stops, the airport one more with a short transfer. You can get to Antwerp from the same station for just a few dollars and an easy ride.

What a jem I stumbled upon and a great value compared to midtown Brussels. You will not be disappointed!
