One of my favorite city halls in Belgium. The city is like the Venice of Belgium.

Beautiful 14th century building. Admirable architecture and interiors. Delightful day or night.

14th century city hall, very nicely renovated, the heart of historic Bruges

Definitely worth paying the entrance fee for the main hall. Downstairs there is also a very interesting painting of napoleon.

Outstanding architecture. Take a picture from outside. You can give a miss to inside.

Not much to see here inside, just a quick look at the main hall

We purchased the museum pass, but had we not I would have been upset to pay for this museum individually. Two rooms and many people that work there making it very clear they were packing up for the day over an hour before close.

There is only one thing to see really - the extremely impressive main banquet hall which is covered in painted plasterwork. Do get the laminated guide card as you enter, and follow it around the hall as you learn about each scene describing important moments from the history of Bruges. You can also just sit in one of the chairs and let it all sick in. There is also a side room with a few exhibits on the history of Bruges but it's very badly organised (guide card order doesn't match the display cases), and like in most Bruges museums English writing is often absent from the labels or in this case even the guide). But the main hall alone is definitively worth the ticket price!

Lovely architecture. Waffle-van-adjacent. Excellent view from the bench across the square.

    Room for improvement:
    - the painting of the building on display inside the building would have been even better if it had looked like the building it was meant to be of
    - one of the flags (the yellow one) waving in the wind above main entrance had come loose and ruined the symmetry of the design and caused me great personal distress
