Well know for a breakfast, brunch or lunch. Not cheap though. On weekends the service is not great. They are friendly but most are students and some are careless about what they are doing. Everytime I went there they forgot something. This time, the table was not clean, food came in, and after 10 minutes we had to wave to someone so we can have a fork, knife and napkins. They forgot to serve the cookies that were ordered too (actually there were none anymore so instead of telling us, they simply did not bother to give the info so we can choose something else). I will stop there you got the idea. Never tried it during the week, but I guess it will be the same. I love this place but I can go spend my money elsewhere since it's not cheap and no service (table around us had even worse issues they waited over 30 minutes to get their croissant, not even warm ones, ).
Le Pain Quotidien is one of those places where you like being in irrespective of the food taste. It is a homey eatery which is good for a casual brunch. There are many branches around the world but wherever you are, when you step into the cafe, you feel the same feeling of warmth. Le Pain Quotidien is a “bakery-restaurant” that originated in Brussels, so having brunch at one of the locations there makes it more special. I really liked the one in the Sablon area; it has an adjacent space that lets the sunlight in through a glass roof. A crucial idea that they have in their eateries is the common wooden table which obliges you to sit next to a stranger as you have your meal. However, you do also have regular tables if you need more privacy. I am a brunch kind of person, so I will enjoy my hot chocolate and eggs; especially the “oeuf a la coque” (boiled egg with a delectable runny yolk at its center). In general, the platters are hearty. Though not spectacular, the food still has me hooked and I will keep coming back for more.
Like the concept and the story behind LPQ, but as it becomes bigger, it starts losing the charm it used to have. More and more it's becoming a "chain" like so many others. Products are still high quality and very tasty though. Prices (at least in Brussels) are somewhat higher than competition.
Best Breakfast in my life. Love the eggs in every version. Kindest service in town. Thumbs up.
Food was okay but cold and chicken was a little too dry.
Would have loved to have a better experience since the place is really nice and cosy.
There was a huge difference between the way the staff treated French speaking people and English speaking people.
Pain quotidien is a place I love in general but this place is not recommended on my list.
Delicious. Also nice to see menu refreshing. had great turmeric almond latte and delicious seasonal yoghurt fruit etc.. mix. Only slight surprise is that prices seem to have moved up quite a bit. And we know PQ since 1998 in Bruxelles
Nice athmosfere. Nice food. Service terrible. No eye contact. Long wait to get attention from waitress. Asked for a gazpacho and Iced Tea and was served a hot soup with Cidre instead.
Pricey but great quality food. Perfect for those who don't want to sacrifice health for taste! The salads are packed with nutritional and flavour packed goodies that can really full you up.
The avocado toast is my favourite!
The service is very nice, as none of the staff are rude to foreigners, making the entire experience even more enjoyable.
The bakery section at the front has many fresh selections of all kinds of desserts and breads. The only place I'll go for breakfast when I'm in town!
Very arrogant waitress, we ordered big coffee and got small milk. High prices and the taste very mediocre. I don't recommend this chain of cafés.
Terrible experience, very unaccommodating for me (being gluten free). The other in the party were also disappointed as their eggs and bacon were cold, service was slow and prices were high. Avoid if possible
The staff was kind & welcoming. Our breakfast was great & the croissants were perfectly flaky & buttery. Loved the healthy variety on the menu.
Truly terrible experience. The bacon and eggs were cold, despite repeated requests we never received milk to go with the tea, and one meal never arrived at all. When we kept asking for the food to come the servers first ignored us, then treated us like we were in the wrong. We've had fine experiences here before, but I would never risk coming here with guests, or people who need to be fed at the same time or really, people who need to be fed, because there's just no guarantee you'll be fed or treated well.
Very nice place, food is ok, nothing extraordinary. Service is too slow. And very expensive.
PQ usually has a pretty good standard of food. But this joint is disorganised beyond compare. We had to chase the waiter 5 times to try to get our order, with ever getting everything we asked for. Also, not the cleanest place.
