This hotel is amazing. Modern, very comfortable, delicious food and very helpful staff. Great gym on the top floor. Beautiful situation - highly recommend a walk or run around Mechelen! It's also very close to Antwerp but at a fraction of the price.

Arriving on Monday I received a no-show invoice for Sunday night. A miscommunication with a colleague had originated a Sunday booking which I didn't need. When I tried to discuss this at the front desk I was suggested I should try to recover the monies from my colleague. Having brought a team of about 4-5 people for some 20+ weeks already, staying 4-5 night per week I found this an indication that Novotel Mechelen is not interested in doing long term business with me and I acted accordingly.

Clean and comfortable basic hotel with good basic services. Rooms have comfortable beds and basic amneties. Good location and friendly service.

I have stayed in this hotel many times and so know if its good location and rooms. The disappointing area is how it is assumed you had breakfasts rather than having confirmation that you did. while its no problem for me to point out we only had breakfast on one occasion I wonder how many people don't realise this happens and have to query afterwards. in our case this then caused the receptionist to make an error in charging us the amount of 20 cents. so on the good side this was corrected on the bad side this cost us over a pound as the initial charge was converted at a better exchange rate than was applied on the rebate.

Nice staff, and good rooms. I like that the windows open. Missing a few amenities as standard like conditioner and lotion. Complimentary full breakfast with so much choice. Delicious!

Breakfast is fantastic, beds are good, rest are fine.
Downside/dislike:
- When I first check in they staff gave me a room with somebody in it (what the hell)
- Didn't know toothbrush wasn't provided :(
- I forgot to bring travel adapter and asked for a adapter from the counter, the first one doesn't fit into any of the socket in the room and second one is broken then the counter said they don't have any adapter and suggest me to buy one with EUR13

Very clean, good front desk service. The bathroom was very small, especially considering we booked the largest room. The shower stall was tiny and wasn't designed well so the water splashed onto the floor. The water smelled of sulphur, so that wasn't fun. The bed was comfortable, but the "double person" option was a queen. The lobby was attractive and they have bikes to rent, though the price seemed kind of high. The " air conditioning" was not very cool, so it did get a bit warm in our room on a very hot summer day.

Very good hotel. Very near to Market. So many options for breakfast in the morning. Room size is also good but room entry is little wierd.
