An astonishing museum, and privately owned too. No interactive cartoon characters, just real objects from the surrounding area, and very clearly laid out. Totally recommended. I was so impressed, when I left I donated an amount equal to my entrance fee.

Visit this regular as a Battlefield Guide. Niek and his family really look after visitors and it's a superb museum with an excellent cafe. Best lunch in the Ypres Salient! New trenches also great!

Vast amount of artifacts.
Cafe serves snacks and hot / cold drinks.
Toilets inside but these can get busy if large groups are visiting.
Seating inside and outside.
Beautiful CWGC cemetery over the road.
New restored trenches behind the museum as well.

Perfect deal. For 11€ you get the museum+soft drink+huge sandwich. The museum is old school (no computer crap) filled to the throat with relics from WW1. In addiyion, the place is filled with private collection level rare exhibits that I have never seen in quality or quantity in any WW1 war museum this far.

This museum was full to the brim with items from the Flanders mud - it made for a very moving visit.

I'd recommend getting the sandwich/drink/museum entrance deal as it represents great value.
