Extremely cool! The tour guide was so informative and extremely friendly. He told us about the war of the bulge before we started which was great as I only knew a bit. There were so many vehicles it was wonderful. For those with limited mobility there are stairs. The tour is in French or English and starts at 2pm sharp as it is an active barracks they do not have the luxury of all day tours. Also it's free. ♥️

We did not have a chance to visit the Barracks, because of very short opening hours. Please consider to extend the opening hours at least until 4 pm. The 2 pm closing time is really hard to handle if you have more places to see within one day.

One of the best museums in the area and a must see for the tank fanatics, because the museum has a large collection of armored vehicles.
This museum is also responsible for almost all tank restorations in this area and they are now restoring the Panther from Houffalize.response / report this review -

Awesome museum with tons of fascinating history! It's a working barracks so you can only go with the tour guide. The tour takes a pretty long time so be prepared. Ours took almost three hours

I joined the first guided tour and the first part around the historical rooms, displayed items and weapons was excellent. Our great and entertaining guide showed an amazing knowledge and insight of events, facts and details, and managed to deliver the tour on both french and English in a excellent and natural way, repeating questions and answers in both languages. Thank you very much for a extraordinary treat 😊 👍
The second part was a walk around the garages of restored tanks, trucks, cannons and equipment. The displays in the garages was very interesting, but despite requests, the second guide did not present the tour in english, but solely entertained the french-speaking half of the group, leaving the the rest of us to make our own experience. Sorry, but that doesn't work for me - and the Dutch participants in the group also didn't seem very impressed by this approach.
If the second half of the tour also included English, I would definitely rate this all 5 stars.response / report this review -

The guide is passionate and the presented pieces are awesome. The tank museum us a must see. And in addition of it, it's free. Hands down the best museum in town

The best museum in Bastogne. A guided tour to all the scenary of the episode of "Nuts" plus a visit to the installations with museum with an amazing collection of tanks and armored vehicles. And a visit to the Vehicle Restoration Centre who makes a great job. Free entrance. 100% recomendable.

We went there during one of the Bastogne Historic Walks and they put on a great display for the celebration. Great working tank displays and tours of the old buildings showing how they were used by the defenders of Bastogne during that cold winter of 1944.

If you speak Dutch or English or any other language than French, You're not going to enjoy this. I speak Dutch and the guide couldn't speak it at all, so he spoke English to us. So unbelievably fast, I understand around 4 words he said and even then I wasn't really sure. The museum itself is interesting to look at, but the guide really ruins it.
