Excellent beer, Bruin, Blonde, But the best X-mas beer. The food is also good and they have a variety of dishes with the local cheese

Beware of the gift shop. The cashier is a thief. He mis-charges consistently and does not give receipts. Also steals merchandise.
Other than that, the location is beautiful and the park is worth a walkthrough. Very peaceful location.

This is a former Cistercian Abbey, that lies in valley of the village of Aubel. This complex consists of many ancient buildings, including the church, courtyards & the brewery where they make the famous Val Dieu beer & the Val Dieu Abby Cheese. There is also a large park to walk in. You can see a lot without a guide! Everthing is well explained with lovely multilingual bords & plates. There is a large parking outside the Abbey too. You can relax & eat or drink a Val Dieu beer in 1 of the 2 brasseries.

A peaceful place with great beer! You can visit the Abbey and the park before tasting the famous beer with the cheese of the same name. The architecture of the Abbey and the other buildings is also impressive. Don't hesitate to visit it!

A cistercian monastery with a great park. If the basilic is open to the public, the inner courtyard has a limited access with one guided tour per week only. Val Dieu is also a brewery where the monks used to produce one of the most famous belgian beers. Enjoy one of them and a piece of Val Dieu cheese at the local restaurant.
