  Tangail Polytechnic Institute was established in 1991 with 40 students in the first year classes of diploma in engineering in Electrical technology. With growing demands of mid level technical manpower home and abroad the institute has since greatly expanded. The institute now offers courses in five technologies.
  
  The institute is located 0.5 kilometres (0.31 mi) north of Tangail center new bus terminal, eastern side of Tangail - Mymensingh road, in front of two other govt. offices Ban bhaban (Forest Department of Tangail) & B.A.D.C of Tangail zone.

  Tangail Polytechnic Institution is a well known educational institution in Tangail District. This is situated not so far from Tangail Bus Stand. Here students from different corners of Bangladesh come to study. Students usually take diploma degree on different subject subjects such as mechanical,electrical,electronics civil etc.
