This is the launch terminal that is connecting Dhaka to the southern part of Bangladesh. You can go to Chandpur or Barishal from this terminal effortlessly. There are so many launches and ferries operate here. The biggest multi-deck launches are available on this port. Although the platform is not very safe and neat.

The Port of Dhaka is a major river port on the Buriganga River in Dhaka, the capital and largest city of Bangladesh. The port is located in the southern part of the city. It is Bangladesh's busiest port in terms of passenger traffic. The port has services to most of the districts of Bangladesh. In 2013, a container terminal opened 20 km from the city to handle ocean-going ships. Along with Barisal, Chandpur and Narayanganj; the Dhaka port handled 53 million tonnes of cargo and 22 million passengers in 2013-204.

Most important River port in Bangladesh to connect with the south. But the problem hidden with the lack of organizing. Hassle starts from the one way road which has long traffic jam up to Jagannath University. Coolie attacks(!) is another problem. Like they will take your bag at any cost. I have nothing to say about beggars. The current circumstance of Bangladesh, our country cannot have a clean well organized terminal. But things are better than previous. Hawkers should not be permitted on the pontoon as they consuming valuable areas. I know nothing will change any time soon. But we can make change by ourselves..

This is the launch terminal of Dhaka on the river Buriganga. One can travel by launch or steamer to Barisal, Patuakhali, Chandpur, Bhola and other southern part of Bangladesh from Dhaka. Luxurious launch like sundarban, surovi and kirtonkhola are available here for the passengers.

This terminal is all time busy. We booked a VVIP cabin on lonch name "Kirtonkhola -2". It has a queen size bed, deluxe sofa, attached bath with high commode, private bandana/deck, AC, Fridge, Fan , complementary fruit & bottled water. Inside the VVIP area there is dining table also.

It is the main & biggest riverport in Bangladesh. But I have got a serious problem here. There is no active ticket counter here. You cannot buy any advance ticket from ticket counter like bus/train. You have to directly contact to specific launch. This is really awfull.
