STAY AWAY! The worst hotel experience in my life!
We were excited to stay at Green House Guesthouse due to the nice location and the supposedly positive reviews this place had receive. HOWEVER, it proved to be the worst possible experience I have yet had with any hotel in any part of the world. Upon arriving, the hotel had changed their location without informing us, despite having received a confirmation about our stay only 1 day previous to arrival. Now, having arrived in Dhaka in the late evening, standing at a place where the hotel was suddenly not located, we were furthermore unable to get in contact with them. Finally, after having tried numerous times to approach the hotel, we received an extremely poor service from the staff.
They informed us that there had been a change in location but also, that despite our confirmed booking they did not have any available rooms for us. This is the most outrageous treatment I have every had in my life! There was no apology from the hotel and no help given. A suggestion was made to be installed in an extremely nasty place well out of the centre of Dhaka. However, this place was described to us as 'unlivable' and of cause we declined. After having asked them how they possible found it okay to not inform us about the re-location, and not provide us with the booked room, they simply gave a rude and poor excuse, telling that some people had prolonged their stay. This is NOT IN ANY CASE acceptable and I urge EVERYONE never to trust this extremely unprofessional and outrageously poor hotel.
The next day we were able to book a lovely room, to a much better price, right in the centre of Gulshan 2 next to the water. NEVER trust Green House Guesthouse and I urge you to look for any other possibility than this "hotel".response / report this review -

Be careful, they like to overcharge you on room rent (+15 VAT & 5% service charge) and car hire. Guesthouse is ok. Do not accept it when they give you a mattress on the floor instead of a real bed.
