It's a matter of great pride that Mr. Mrinal Sen, Veteran Film Maker of India, who was born on 14/5/1923 at Jhiltuli, Faridpur, was a student of this great Institution, ie. Govt Rajendra College, Faridpur, . He studied in this college upto HSC. Rest of his studies were upto MSc(Physics) in Calcutta University. After partition of the then Bengal, his father Advocate Dinesh Sen left Faridpur in 1947 & settled permanently in Kolkata together-with his family. Mr. Mrinal Sen became a successful film maker in India. Besides Padma Bhushan Award & Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Mr. Mrinal Sen was the recipient of multiple National Awards & got international exposure too. It is regrettable to all the film loving people irrespective of country that Mr Mrinal Sen is no more with us. He has passed away at the age of 95 yrs in Kolkata on 30/12/2018.

This is probably best college in Faridpur for last several years now. A lot of students from other corner of the district also study here. The campus is quite nice and big. Used be my favorite hangout place for few years.
