First Capital University of Bangladesh started its journey in the field of higher education on 14 March 2012. Professor Dr. M. Obidul Islam Joarder was the first Vice Chancellor of the University. The University was set up in a five storied rental building in the heart of Chuadanga town.
The University started its activities with 5 Faculties, 5 Departments, 20 teachers and 52 students. At present this university consists of 5 Faculties, 08 departments and 19 disciplines. The number of students and teachers has risen to about 1700 and 56 respectively.
The main purpose of the University is to create a new era of knowledge and spread this knowledge in the society through its students by which the general people of the society may have the opportunity to improve their socio-economy condition.
The high standard education and research for the University was set by its first Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. M. Obidul Islam Joarder. While serving as the highest echelon academic excellence, the University also functions as a central location for free thought and democratic practices that would lead the nation in its march towards progress.
Presently, the University enrolls more than 1400 students in the Honors Program in different Departments of the Faculties. Besides conducting teaching course in the 4 year Bachelor and 1 year Masters Programs, the University also trains up a number of researchers in different disciplines.
The University is dedicated to the advancement of learning, and is committed to promoting research in all fields of knowledge. As there are plans for further expansion by facilities, plans for new avenues and opportunities, the course curricula are updated and new research projects are undertaken.
