  ‘Hinamatsuri’ or ‘Doll festival’ is a festival to pray for young girl’s health and happiness celebrated on March 3rd; is most probably the most popular seasonal event in every Japanese family blessed with a daughter/s.
  
  Hinamatsury’s roots reach back to the Heian period (794-1185) which is recognized for flourishing classical Japanese arts and literature. Formerly, people believed the dolls possessed the power to contain bad spirits. Hinamatsuri traces its origins to an ancient Japanese custom called Hina-nagashi (doll floating), in which straw dolls are set afloat on a boat and sent down a river to the sea, supposedly taking troubles or bad sprit with them.
  
  In Japan, most families with girls display ‘hina-ningyo’ (special ornamental dolls) and dedicate peach blossoms to them. The dolls are arranged on a five or seven-tiered stand (hinadan) covered with a red carpet (dankake). Though the Kanto region and Kansai region have different placement orders of the dolls from left to right, but the order of dolls arrangement follows a certain pattern:
  
  At the top are the Emperor in the left and the Empress in the right (from the viewer’s perspective).
  The next step contains three court ladies which are called sannin-kanjo, each of them holding sake (Japanese liquor) equipment,
  The third step followed by five musicians (gonin-bayashi) each holds a musical instrument except the singer, who holds a sensu (Japanese folding fan)
  On the fourth step, two ministers (the Minister of the Right is depicted as young person-udajin, while the Minister of the Left is much older called-sadajin)
  Three servants ending the bottom row in a five-tiered display in traditional court dress. On the sixth and seventh tiers, a variety of small pieces of furniture, small meal dishes and other articles are displayed.
  
  For Hinamatsuri, traditionally dolls are gifts from grandparents to granddaughters and came in wide variety of styles. Families generally start to display the dolls in February and take them down immediately after the festival on March 3rd. Superstition says that leaving the dolls past March 4 will result in a late marriage (and in some cases bring hard luck) for the daughter. However, dolls have been a part of Japanese culture for many years.

  Embassy of japan.any queries about the passport and visa process related to go to japan you may concern this embassy.without the passport and visa issue the entry in this building is restricted.although their service is very quiet and first thei behavior should be improved.Wonderful building including all advance facilities.the interior of this building is highly decorated which is very cool.

  There office have all facilities as needed as a diplomatic office needed.
