This medical institute is one of the renowned Institute in Bangladesh. All kind of medicines and medical facilities are available here. There was no lecture hall nor dissection gallery at first. These needs were met after the construction of new academic buildings in 1955. The college did not have any student housing. Male students were allowed to reside in the Dhaka University's student halls, but female students did not have the use of that facility. The college and hospital premises were expanded with temporary sheds, some of which were built for outdoor services of the hospital and some for student housing. New buildings for housing, college, and hospital were constructed in phases: a dormitory for girls in 1952, a dormitory for male students in 1954–55, a new complex of academic buildings in 1955, and a dormitory for internee doctors in 1974–75. A new academic and hospital building, adding 500 beds, Dhaka Medical College Hospital-2 (DMCH-2), was inaugurated by Prime Minister on 3 October 2013.

This is the largest Medical college Hospital in Bangladesh. It was established in 1946. It is a multidisciplinary Hospital with 24 hours emergency services. Total bed number is 2000 but about extra one thousand patients remain admitted here. It's a tertiary hospital and all sorts of patient are treated here. As it's a government Hospital treatment is almost free of cost. Lot of world famous doctor are produced from Dhaka Medical college. Every year 200 new Medical students get themselves admitted here by a competitive examination. Only top students get chance to study here.

DHAKA MEDICAL COLLAGE is First Grade Medical Collage in Bangladesh...he college's original building was built before the Partition of Bengal of 1905; being used, as of 1904, as the secretariat (headquarters) of the newly formed provinces of East Bengal and Assam; then, in 1921, turned over to the University of Dhaka, which was founded that year. At that time a part of the huge building was used as the university's medical center, another part as the students' dormitory and the rest as the office of the administrative wing of the Arts faculty.

In 1939, the Dhaka university council requested that the British Government establish a separate medical college in Dhaka. The proposal was postponed because of the onset of the Second World War.

The service is not so bad that it does not become a patient or a patient. Apart from the few who do not have a hand, patients with the rest of the doctors will not have the courage to speak well, do not listen to one thing once and do not hesitate to ask again!

A cancer patient can not be admitted to the hospital even after one month of the oncology department (speaking from real life experience); By submitting the report every day, wait till 2/3 only to hear the seat is not empty!

It is forced to buy curry from the hotel after feeding the food in the name of food, about 90% of the patient or his or her relatives. I did not talk about the condition of the toilet ... there was much more to say ... then one day I would say InshaAllah! If you live!

The most reputed medical college of the country. The main building has historical significance as it was built before the partition of Bengal. During the WWII the hospital became American Armed Force Hospital but after the war they evacuated it. This is the hospital for all kinds of treatment. People from all over the country come here for treatments. Recently new building has been built with extended burn unit. This is the only institution which have modern burn unit facility and better treatment. Anti venom for snake bite are also available which is rare to found in other hospitals.

The largest public medical college and hospital in Bangladesh - the best doctors in the country work here and the fees very cheap. But huge mismanagement everywhere and it seems the hospital is controlled by support staff whom you'll have to bribe every step to get good treatment.

Best government hospital in the country. The hospital is giving service more than it's capacity. No patient referred to other hospital from this hospital, unless extremely needed. All classes of people come here to avail service. Such type of big hospital needed more staff to manage everything .
Though there is a complaint about cleanliness of the hospital . Overall patient Satisfaction is good.
