The college is associated with Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM), which is the largest medical of the world for diabetes treatment, a 600-bed multidisciplinary teaching hospital founded by national professor Muhammad Ibrahim. The Hospital was established in 1980 with the financial support of Bangladesh. In BIRDEM 3,000 patients are treated in the outside department every day. No other hospital in Bangladesh even in the world offers so many diabetes patients. According to the Denmark-based multinational pharmaceutical company Novo Nordics Vice President of the Pacific Ocean, Selvam Afsar Tuna, this is the world's largest hospital in treating diabetes. It has been designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre on Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders, as the only one of its kind in Asia.

It's true that their treatment is one of the best, but the environment is very very uncomfortable. Every single ward and cabin is full of small cockroaches and bedbugs. Not lying. My mom and dad were hospitalised here together at the same time and it was a horrible experience for us. Some of the doctors and nurses are very rude and direct. On the other hand some doctors and nurses are very very polite and humble. Their was a man named Dulal, whom we hired on a daily basis to be our helper. He is a very kind person.
