The University is situated at the zero point of Kalatali which is very crowded. I think, a university should be established in a calm place. The total activities of the university runs just under a single building.

Background of the Establishment of the University:
Cox’s Bazar happens to be the largest tourist destination in Bangladesh. In the large space of 2491 square kilometer there is not a single higher seat of education, especially when it comes to a university. For a long time, therefore, there had been an urgent need for a university. This is also a great demand of the people of this area since they need to travel a long way (to Dhaka or to Chittagong) for their higher education. In doing so, they had to bear additional expenditure and if they failed to do so, they were deprived of the opportunity. So the need for an affordable and quality higher education center was great. Considering all these, the present board of trustees headed by Salauddin Ahmed (CIP) decided to found a university in the Kolatoli Center, the nerve center of the communication hub of Cox’s Bazar District.The board thinks that the higher seat of education will contribute in eliminating the darkness and spread true education among the people not only through classroom teaching, but also through various entrepreneurships and research activities. The university is heading for making an extremely enlightened academic circle that would be able to positively contribute in enhancing the growth of the city – both aesthetically and academically.

Cox’s Bazar International University starts its journey with four separate faculties and 11 individual departments. In total, we have more than 600 students. We also have a library, a cafeteria, a small dormitory for the teachers. We ensure all the logistic supports to facilitate education. The supports include teaching using technology like multimedia projector and computer lab. The campus has the Wi-Fi zone. Apart from this, we have language club, debating club and many others student organizations which are continuously supporting the students to be better human resources. We also invite scholars from across the country. Meanwhile, we held a number of seminars, invited guests, guardians, teachers and other educationists in these programs. The honorable Minister of Education visited our university and expressed his satisfaction by observing the mode of education and infrastructure.

Graced with natural beauty, Cox's Bazar is well known to all the people of the world. The longest motorable beach of the Bay of Bengal attracts thousands of curious tourists of home and abroad. Unfortunately, this popular and famous tourist city had not been graced with a university until now. So, the students of Cox's Bazar reluctantly had to go to Chittagong, Dhaka or elsewhere for higher studies incurring heavy financial loss for their accommodation, food and transportation, which left the students and guardians into a lasting anxiety and uncertainty.The people of Cox's Bazar had been in a dire need of a good university for qualitative higher education. Keeping these end in view, we strongly felt that we should establish a private university of international standard for imparting quality education to the students of Cox's Bazar. Therefore, we have decided to establish the Cox's Bazar International University to meet the needs of the inhabitants of this district. We expect, this university will attain a high standard of education in order to cope with the advancement of modern world.
