The university offers degrees in engineering disciplines in undergraduate and post-graduate levels and also conducts research and provides degrees in basic sciences in post-graduate level. There are fifteen academic departments under five faculties emphasizing teaching and research of engineering, technology, architecture and planning.

One of the most renowned Public Engineering Universities of Bangladesh. It was established in 1968 as Engineering College, Chittagong; then again it's named as Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Chittagong in 1986 and again finally at September 1, 2003 it became named as Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology which is commonly referred as CUET was established as a Complete University.
The University is situated at Raozan, Chittagong with a huge area of 173 acres along with such a mind-blowing natural beauty of environment.
About 4500 students are currently studying in this University.

Former Bangladesh Institute of Technology, Chittagong, abbreviated as BIT Chittagong is presently Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET). It is one of the prominent and prestigious autonomous self-degree-awarding institute in the engineering education of Bangladesh. This Institute was created out of Engineering College, Chittagong that was established in 1968. The Chittagong Engineering College functioned as the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Chittagong. Through a Government ordinance in 1986, the college was converted into an Institute of Technology. In 2003 this institute of technology was converted into a public university. The honorable President of Bangladesh is the Chancellor of the University.

CUET is unique and incompatible due to its proximity to Chittagong, the major sea-port and the beautiful Hill city of the country. The University is situated by the side of the Chittagong-Kaptai road some 25 kilometers off from the center of Chittagong City. Moreover all the tourist attractions of the country like the large hydroelectric plant, the natural beauty of the lake of Kaptai, hill sports of Rangamati, Bandarban, the longest sea beach of the world and tourist resort of Cox's Bazar are only a few hours journey.response / report this review -

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is one of the leading public universities in Bangladesh. It is situated alongside the Chittagong Kaptai Road, 25km away from the city of Chittagong, the main sea port and the second largest city of Bangladesh. The university stands in about 173 acres of magnificent natural surroundings comprising pristine hills, plain lands and lakes with numerous species of plants. It has been playing a pioneering role in higher education, research and development in the field of engineering and applied sciences since its inception as Engineering College, Chittagong in the year 1968. Its graduates are among the leaders in their respective fields.
To meet the increasing demand of professional engineers for national development, the National Economic Council of the Government on 28 August 1962 decided to establish the Engineering College, Chittagong and the college started functioning on 28 December 1968 by admitting 120 students in its first academic session under the Faculty of Engineering, University of Chittagong. The Engineering College later on 1 July 1986 was declared as a self-degree awarding Institution and renamed as “Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Chittagong” under the BIT Ordinance, 1986. On 1 September 2003, the Institute was converted into a university named “Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET)” under the CUET Act, 2003.
The country's lone hydroelectric power station, oil refinery and many other heavy industries are situated in Chittagong. The brisk industrialization of Chittagong, a city of about 4.5 million people, congruent with geographical advantage of the country's premier sea-port has given CUET a locational advantage and opportunity for analyzing urban and industrial problems, exploring new areas of research in automation, coastal engineering and other applied fields. CUET sets its guiding principle to foster the best professional competence by coupling pedagogy and research with relevance to real-world problems. Thus, the students of this university are enjoying a unique and inimitable environment of learning and innovation.

Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (চট্টগ্রাম প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) commonly referred to as CUET (চুয়েট), located in Chittagong, Bangladesh, is renowned as one of the public engineering universities in Bangladesh. The university maintains a special emphasis on research.
CUET is situated in the district of Chittagong under Chittagong Division. It is in the Pahartali union under Raozan upajila, by the north side of the Chittagong-Kaptai road about 25 kilometers from the center of Chittagong City. The 420 Megawatt Raozan Thermal Power Plant is situated just beside the campus. Karnaphuli Hydroelectric Power Station, the largest source of hydroelectricity of the country, is situated in Kaptai, about 25 kilometers from CUET.response / report this review -

Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (চট্টগ্রাম প্রকৌশল ও প্রযুক্তি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়), formerly named Bangladesh Institute of Technology-Chittagong, is an engineering university in Chittagong, Bangladesh. It was established by the government with a major focus on engineering and technology.
CUET is a small university with about 1,900 students and eleven academic departments but a strong emphasis in theoretical, applied, and interdisciplinary scientific and technological education. The university undertakes research works sponsored by local industries and national/international organizations, such as United Nations organizations, Commonwealth Foundation, University Grants Commission, etc. As a center of excellence, CUET is not only continuing as the focal point for the development and dissemination of engineering and technological know-how in the country, but it is also involved in solving complicated practical problems of national importance faced by the planners, engineers and technologists.
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology opened as full-fledged university in September 2003 and has become one of the five technological universities in Bangladesh. It's one of the best government engineering educational organization in Bangladesh. Here have serveral engineering Department. It's great place for engineering education. Nice environment for all students. In this university, have several research centre, education centre. Have also residential facilities . Have many cultural organization which maintain by students & also teachers. Have also robotic organization where students of this university, study about robotics.

This engineering university is 23 km away from muradpur, chittagong. Although direct transportation is not so much available you can go there by CNG taxi. The campus is blessed with natural beauty. One of the most spacious campus in the country. For tourists there is no residential facilities such as hotel motel etc. You have to reside in main town. However this campus is worth visiting for it's serenity.
