  It is the Apex Body of Barguna Town. It is a people oriented organization. Barguna City Corporation is highly dedicated towards its citizens.
  
  The name of Barguna evolved from ‘Boro’ and ‘Goon’ which were needed to provide pace to the boat of goods. From Boro-Goon the name turned into Barguna. Some People beleive this history; another group of people says that Barguna was named according to the name of a famous Bawaly or a renowned Rakhain indigenous people named Barguna.
