Monique, Michelle, Shannon and Terry were very helpful and professional and are instrumental in making us feel at home.
Great place. The views were beautiful, the room was impeccably clean, and the staff were very kind and helpful. The front desk workers/concierges were really great at answering questions, offering good advice, and facilitating travel arrangements. We got a personal level of care here that was better than most of my experiences at 4/5 star hotels. The building itself has limitations; there are no elevators, and since it's in the heart of St. Lawrence Gap there is some noise from the nightlife (sounds of chattering and music on Saturday night - not obnoxious, but definitively there). However, if you can tolerate a little ambient noise (I'm a noise sensitive person and didn't need to use the earplugs I always carry with me) and walking up a few flights of stairs, this place is an amazing value and an overall good hotel.
Checked in this afternoon with Monique and she was very nice and made us feel very welcomed. The rooms are great and the view of the sea is splendid. Will be returning for sure. Thanks for the warm welcome.
Great location, room comfortable and well appointed. Staff friendly and helpful!
Loved this hotel. It's located right in St. Lawrence Gap, which is fun area of Barbados with lots of restaurants and night life. We could walk to two beaches very easily (Dover and Worthing) as well as tons of restaurants. The people at the front desk are so nice and helpful. The room was always cleaned spotlessly, and they even washed the dishes we left in the sink. The kitchen is stocked with basic cooking utensils (but unfortunately no napkins or paper towels) and we were able to cook one night as well as easily store some snacks and drinks in the fridge. The hotel also has a nice pool area and a bar/restaurant downstairs. The food at the restaurant was good, though the service was slow. This is a really fun place to stay - would definitely come back!
The staff here was very nice and accommodating. The suite was clean and we were right across from the beach! There were also multiple restaurants right near by and night life was just a few minutes away. I'd call this one a hidden gem.
Great place great workers..slow to no internet
Leaving today and we want to stay! Such a great place with wonderful staff.
We had seen many positive reviews but genuinely didn't know what to expect. The room was perfect, with all the facilities we needed. Toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge and freezer. Air con was great and kept us cool.
Really enjoyed the Saturday Zumba in the pool, and the happy hour rum punches.
We walked to Dover beach for a few of the days because the breeze was better there, but you really can't beat the idilic view out of room 304.
Just wonderful staying at the yellow bird hotel like hone from home and staff so friendly always our 2nd vist to this hotel x
Great experience. Great view. Good food. Nice people.
Only day 3 but absolutely love the hotel the staff are so nice and friendly will defiantly come back, rooms are perfect will recommend to family and friends back in England.
located opposite to the beach, market and food are nearby, location is nice, staff is very nice, air conditioning is an issue as it gets very hot, staff is very co-operative, rooms are big and clean and have a dry kitchenette
Got a room with beachview, very nice to have your breakfast there! All the staff are super helpfull with bookings, questions you may have etc
Yellow Bird is in a great location. They are amazing. The staff couldn't be nicer, and the rooms were clean and had a small kitchenette in case you wanted to go to the market and pick up a couple things. STay there !!!!
Hidden gem on a gentle boat-centric cove. Beautiful. Easy access to restaurants in St. Lawrence Gap.
Staff that feels like family. Views to die for. Fantastic restaurants all around.
After having spent some time on the west coast I can safely say you'll get a more authentic experience in St Lawrence Gap. Yellow Bird Hotel is perfectly located on the tip of St Lawrence Gap, over looking a beautiful beach view.
The views, especially sunsets are second to none.
The location is ideal for people watching, and a great base for getting to and from Bridgetown and Oistins. There's a bus stop just round the corner to take you straight into Bridgetown.
The staff were very helpful and full of genuine feedback and recommendations for tours and things to do.
They do great breakfasts, beautifully presented (non of that soggy greasy stuff).
Yellow Bird is relatively kinder on the purse strings than some of the bigger all inclusives on the west coast, but I found the atmosphere, service and friendliness of staff far greater at Yellow Bird.
I will definitely head back here again in the future.
I must make a special mention for Sonia. Sonia is one of the hotel staff, she made up our rooms every day and displayed 5 star professionalism, she was always smiling, interested to hear how we were, did we need anything, where we had been/going, offering useful advice and ever so hard working - not that the other staff weren't but Sonia stood out for me.
Being right on the Gap you will have no trouble going for a wander on an evening, when it becomes busy with bars/clubs and restaurants.
The rooms are clean spacious enough and nicely decorated in vibrant colours.
The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking (from spatulas, pots, pans, cutlery etc..) in case you didn't want to eat out all the time - and there are supermarkets close by (but avoid the one in St Lawrence Gap itself as it is rather overpriced - tourist trap).
The only negative thing - is the vent on the balcony that makes a loud noise when the air conditioning is on inside the room. Not great if someone wants to sit outside while the others are inside cooling off.
Lovely food and polite service especially the honest bar man
Great location and very nice accommodation.
