We wish to extend sincere condolences to the family of the late Bonita Morgan. She has been a faithful supporter of the PTA for many years. Despite health challenges, she was at every Bingo fundraiser we held over the past years. Her last act of support was a cash donation towards our Bathroom Refurbishment Project. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her and we pray that God will comfort her family at this time.

14 YEAR OLD ST. MICHAEL SCHOOL STUDENT HANNAH CHAMBERS ADVANCES HER GAME ON CLAY IN SOUTH AMERICA
Local tennis player and third form student of the St. Michael School, Hannah Chambers is quickly rising to become a top tennis star as she continues to advance her game in 2018.
Hannah, who turned 14 years old just last week, is currently on a four-week tour to two South American countries, Paraguay and Brazil as a representative of the ITF/COTECC travelling team to COSAT tournaments in South America. The tournaments are all being played on clay surface to which Hannah is unfamiliar, but has adapted very well in a short space of time to the clay.
Hannah Chambers and her COTECC doubles partner, Deborah Dominguez Collado from Guatemala, have won the doubles championship in the second tournament at The Banana Bowl, in Caxias do Sul, Brazil. They won from a round of 16s against a team from Brazil 6-2, 6-2 to advance to the quarter finals where they defeated the #1 seeds from Bolivia 6-3, 5-7, 11-9. They then went on to win the semi-finals by defeating the #3 seeds in a tie break 7-6(4),3-6,10-5 to advanced into the finals against the #2 seeded mixed pair of South Americans from Paraguay and Argentina; defeating them 3-6,7-5,10-4.
Congratulations Hannah!
Our annual Bingo fundraiser is soon here. Parents, past-students and teachers, let's contribute to make SMS even greater.
