Had a great time with Barry's surf school. Did surf strong package, got a board rental and 3 lessons. Barry, Christy and all the instructors were great. They definitely have a love for surfing as well as tremendous skill and talent, and a patience in giving the lessons. Gave a lot of good advice and pointers, and took us to best spot with consideration of conditions and skill level. I ran into the instructors a couple times in the water outside of the lessons and they still offered me pointers even though it Wasn't during the lesson. Also got to check out different spots, and caught some really good waves! Had an Excellent time!

Barry's was such an awesome find! Great communication, very flexible to our needs, and really skillful surf teachers who were just fun to hang out with. We had 4 people in our group at different levels and they were very helpful figuring out lessons that worked with our schedule and ability. Will definitely use them the next time in Barbados and would highly recommend for lessons at any level!

We just finished a two-hour beginner lesson with Matthew and Andrew as instructors. I can't say enough about the quality of instruction we received. Matt and Andrew are both patient and professional teachers, extremely knowledgeable about surfing technique and waves. They have a real knack for explaining just how to go about getting on your feet and staying there to ride your wave to shore. Highly recommend Barry's to anyone who wants to cross surfing off their bucket list!

Barry's Surf Barbados is hands down the best surf experience I've ever had. From the moment Barry personally picked my friend and I up from the airport to when he dropped us off at the airport, we felt like we were taken care of. My friend and I did the 5 day surf lesson package and would 100% do it all again if we could. Their instructors (Andrew, Danny, Matt and Rubin) all did an incredible job teaching and explaining surfing to us; all the instructions were very clear and they were always very patient. They did great jobs at finding the best waves around the island and always gave constructive and helpful feedback. Christie did an amazing job ensuring that all the logistics were perfect on this trip and Danny was incredibly helpful with the video analysis of our surfing. Barry's Surf Barbados was an amazing experience and my friend and I would 100% recommend their school to anybody and everybody!

We discovered Barry's Surf School on a recent trip to Barbados and would definitely recommend them to anyone heading to the island for surf lessons or even just equipment hire. We were looking for more intermediate practice and we definitely got it! Over the few days we were there we surfed with Danny, Andrew and Matt and all were fantastic. The group to instructor ratio meant everyone got individual help and the opportunity to catch great waves. We definitely achieved our progress goals and cant wait to go back for more next time we are in Barbados! Thank you Barry, Christie, Danny, Andrew and Matt and the rest of the crew!

What an awesome surf school!
Genuinely enthusiastic instructors that obviously really enjoy what they do. Sit with you and guide and teach wave selection, fantastic methods of teaching based around fun and riding waves. Stand up time and how best to achieve it. Not ego like many schools.
Wonderful relaxed owners Christie and Barry who can’t do enough for you.
Better than anything I’ve experienced in my short surf career in the UK! Back again next year for sure!

My wife and I did the five day surf package and IT WAS AWESOME!! We had never gone surfing before, but we learned a ton and had a fantastic time.

The video analysis was really helpful, and the Christie and Barry were so friendly and accommodating. Ruben was our instructor for our lessons, and he was very good at teaching my wife and I as we progressed at different rates.

My wife was nervous at the beginning and wasn't sure if surfing was for her, but by the end she was so excited and happy that we did it!!!

Did a five day package with Barry and Co which also came with a video review and airport pickup (Nov 2017). Matt and Andrew were great surfers and excellent instructors, working on specific things at our experience level and taking us to the best breaks. Barry did a video review of our technique and seeing myself really helped change my stance to help with my turning. Everyone we interacted with was knowledgeable and hilarious, my only regret is not being able to surf with 2005 Barbados Girl Surfer of the Year: Christie who was busy making sure we (and everyone else) had everything we needed before, during and after our trip.

We did a week of surfing at Barrys surf school and it was awesome. Matt and Andrew are incredible instructors, super talented, and extremely patient. Christie also privided us rash pants (tights) after the first day as she noticed we were casualties of surf 🏄 rash and sun burns. We surfed in Dover right behind their shop when the waves 🌊 were good and when the waves were not so good they hauled us in their surf truck and brought us to best spot to surf the best waves on that day. Great experience, highly recommended especially for beginners!! Don't look anywhere else than Barry's surf school!!!

If you are looking to rent a surfboard while staying in Barbados, look no furtherBarry has you covered. Whether it be a longboard, fish, fun shape or short board, he has what you need. I recently rented a board for a friend traveling a long distance that didn't want to pay the steep prices to travel with his boards. Barry had just what he needed. A short board that worked in all conditions around the island from small mushy Freights to big fast Soup Bowls.

Both Barry and his wife Christie are very responsive and beyond accommodating. They even lent us straps for the surfboard that were on top of our car. Their location is very convenient to the airport and the South Coast located right in the Gap.

With Barry's longtime history of surfing the island--he is the exact person you want to take a recommendation from.

Barry’s was recommended by a friend. Best recommendation ever!!! Had the best time. Hubby was able to check off a bucket list item. Barry is was a great host, Christie was an absolute pleasure to work with. Matt was the most amazing and patient teacher. Definitely a must do! Barry's surf school is awesome. Christie was kind enough to pick us up from the hotel and drive us back after the lessons. Danny was great and he sure knows what he was doing. He was so patient with us and reminded us to just have fun during the lessons. This place is very much recommended for anyone who would like to get their first try with surfing. Great people! just another reason to love Barbados even more.

First time in Barbados, first time Surfing and was a brilliant experience from start to finish.
Everyone at Barry's were friendly and really good teachers, after one lesson we were standing and riding some small waves. Really great experience and totally recommend Barry's Surf School weather you are new to the surf or want to perfection your technique.

A wonderful experience. Everyone was incredibly friendly throughout the process. Setting up a lesson was a breeze. My instructor, Danny, made it easy to understand the basics and was patient in helping as I tried to execute them. You'll be standing up and riding a wave before you know it!

I had the sense that everyone here loves both surfing and sharing the fun with their guests. Their smiles are contagious and add to the thrill. Don't leave Barbados without spending some time with the team at Barry's.

Highly recommend! I have been to Barbados twice now and Barry's Surf School is always a highlight. The instructors are very attentive and genuinely care about the progress of their students. I can't wait to go back and surf with them again!

Went to Barry's for our surf rental during our stay in the Barbados.

Barry's and the staff are super friendly and helpful. They have a good range of surf available, at the shop or by the beach. Price is excellent for the Barbados.

We did not take lesson but I can guarantee the staff is excellent and you will be well pleased with the lessons and won't regret it. They will take time to explain to you the basis and go surfing with you making sure you ride the waves.

They know the Barbados very well and can guide you if you are an experienced surfer.

Would definitely recommend and go there if I had to go back to the Barbados. They made us enjoy our stay at the Barbados.

Everything about our experience with Barry's Surf School was top-notch. Christie was a pleasure to communicate with before and during our trip to Barbados, our instructors (Andrew, Kian, and Matt) were excellent at what they do, Barry was very accommodating and personable, and it was evident that everyone we dealt with really cared about us getting the most out of our experience. The 3 lesson package with free board rental for the week is great value and I would highly recommend it! The purpose of our trip to Barbados was to learn to surf, and the good people at Barry's not only made that possible, but made our entire experience wonderfully memorable.

Barbados is without a doubt my favourite surf destination. I’ve been there a number of times now, loving the fact that it’s big enough to always offer something new, but small enough to make you feel at home. And the same goes for Barry’s surf school that I was lucky enough to find on my very first trip, which has definitely contributed greatly to my fondness for the island. A super warm welcome, fun lessons on all levels with skilled and dedicated pro’s, a great selection of really good rental boards, and they’re also very conveniently located on a dreamy little beach with fun waves. They combine being very professional and still keeping the groups small and the atmosphere personal, making sure everyone leaves with a smile. Regardless if you are a beginner or a ripper, Barry’s the place for you!

Whether you are planning on staying in Barbados for a week, or just passing by for the day on a cruise; Barry's Surf School offers such a unique and wonderful experience that is hard to find on any other islands in the Caribbean. Let me just tell you a little about my background before I share my experience with Barry's Surf School.

I grew up in New Jersey along the coast and really fell in love with surfing at a pretty young age. It was always a dream of mine to surf in Barbados for many obvious reasons -- 80-85F Ocean Temps, Great Waves, wonderful locals, etc.

I decided to book a Southern Caribbean Cruise with my family and the only requirement that I had when booking this trip was that the Cruise needed to stop in Barbados. Once I found a cruise that visits Barbados, I booked the cruise and started researching what my best option for surfing would be in just a one-day visit to the island. Shortly after doing some research, I discovered Barry's Surf School and it seemed it would be a good fit for my limited time in Barbados.

For $75 per person -- Barry provided transportation for myself and two of my family members to and from the Cruise terminal, paired us up with extremely wonderful instructors in small groups with a lot of one-on-one attention, and allowed us to surf all morning and afternoon on the best breaks of the day. Since I've surfed before, I joined the intermediate group and the other two people I was with joined the beginner group as they have never surfed before.

Every single one of us were more than pleased with how the entire day went. Barry and his crew really care about his customers and they put in every effort possible to ensure your experience is nothing short of amazing. In fact, I enjoyed my time so much with Barry's Surf School, I plan to get one of those surfing packages he offers to customers for my next vacation so that I could spend several days in Barbados and really get to learn the island and surf several spots.

I highly recommend new and experienced surfers to check Barry's Surf School out, you won't be disappointed!

Choosing Barry's Surf School is the best decision you will ever make.

About a month ago, my best friend and I decided to take a week trip down to Barbados. We signed up for a package to surf with Barry's School (5 or 6 lessons I believe) and it was the reason our vacation was so memorable.

All of the instructors we got to meet and surf with (Matt, Danny, Andrew, and Barry) were incredible people, and amazing teachers- both my friend and I had never been surfing before, and Barry's team made the entire experience so insanely fun. They have a great system of teaching you how to start off, and are constantly giving helpful pointers and encouragement throughout the entire lesson. My friend and I usually had Matt and/or Danny as our instructors, and they were so friendly and hilarious. They let you take things at your own pace, and go out of their way to make sure you're doing alright, and enjoying yourself. Both were extremely knowledgable and talented when it came to surfing, and if you ever had any questions, they were happy and qualified to answer them.

The instructors will also take you to different locations depending on the waves, and what surfing level you're at which was unreal.

If you're debating whether or not to go with Barry's School, do it. I thought 6 days of surfing would be plenty, but even after the lessons were done, I still found myself wishing I could go back to surf with them. Truly the best staff and instructors you could hope for.
