Museum have botanical garden that is really beautiful. Great selection of butterflies, various bugs, minerals and rocks. A lot of pieces from rich Bosnia and Herzegovina history. Unfortunately building itself and some pieces are damaged and not preserved as they should be.

Unfortunately there are not many more great museums in Sarajevo. That alone is a strong reason to pay the visit to this monument of history and culture. Located near the central bus station and across the Holiday Inn hotel, it is easy to be found. Just a 100 meters is a famous Tito cafe. Collection of the museum is nowhere near as you probably saw in other major cities, but this temple of culture and history deserves to be seen while visiting Sarajevo.

An excellent museum with a selection of things spanning the ages. The highlight for me, though, was the upstairs; there are several reconstructed rooms from the Ottoman era in the nineteenth century, with furniture and fittings from Sarajevo houses of that era. It is brought to life with mannequins wearing authentic clothes from the period, making it a much more immersive experience.

Great collection of Roman artifacts and history of Bosnia. The museum is divided into three parts; historical, ethnological and natural history. The Roman part is bilingual with a summarised explication of what is, the other parts are only in Bosnian language which is a pity. In the middle between the 4 buildings (the fourth is a library non accessible for public) is a nice botanical garden. Entrance fee is 6KM (3€) and worth it. There's no locker room so don't take what you don't wish to carry for the duration of the visit which is a good 2 hours. No pictures allowed inside.

This large museum exhibits all kinds of stuff related to nature and history in Bosnia, such as artifacts, minerals, insects, animals, etc. Three very different rooms. The Roman room was very interesting, with lots of Roman ruins dating back in time. A natural history room, and the ethnology room, with a reconstruction of a well to do Muslim homereally interesting to see.

I wisted this place around 16h in the september, and it was already dark outside.
Inside the buildings its terrible since half of the things isn't lighten up, so You cant see whole exhibition. Definitely not worth 6KM

As an archaeologist I can admit that I love museums and frequent them a lot. But this one was quite boring and lacking.
Sure they have a lot of cool stuff but they lost a lot of opportunities with what they have. There is no structure either and you get thrown around in the periods a bit.
If the museum curators would try a bit harder this has the same potential as the British museeum or the historical museeum in Stockholm.
Still, worth a visit!

The National Museum is what you'd expect from. Worth visiting. They have a large archeology section and the Hagaddah.

Really good. Some of the lighting was low but I think that's because I was visiting in December when there's no tourist in fact I was the only one in the whole museum. Incredible

The museum complex is worth visiting. Originally it has 5 pavilions, but at the time I visited, one of them was closed (archeology). Botanical garden in the central area is below my expectations. Other than that, everything was pretty good. I liked the insectarium section the most. The exhibition showing traditional Bosnian scenes of daily life was also great!
Ticket is also cheap (6BOM). People working at the museum were very kind. Another bad thing is that they don't have some brochures, maps, etc. (Only book that you have to buy) but since the stuff is kind, it's not a big deal.
