it is a charming little square that reflects the past presence of Ottoman empire, a lot of good grill places aroundpeople buy grains and feed too many pigeons on the square

Great historical place. Really nice to visit with friends, family or alone. There are a lot of restaurants, cake shops and cafés. You can also see some traditional handcrafts, a lot of mosques, churches and other interesting buildings around

Fresh water, lot of tourists, great atmosphere. Must see in Sarajevo. My husband also tried barbershop nearby and his comment: you should try, it is worth.

Nice central Town square where you can find a working old style water fountain. The wooden structure that surrounds it in great condition.

It's a still working properly wooden spring. Free water for everyone. You can buy pidgeon food and feed them.
Very crowded in summer. But you can still catch a good picture of the pigeons. Beware of pickpocket.

The most friendly pigeons I've ever seen, I merely extend my arms and they land on me, and they don't run away when I try to pet them. So many ethnic food restaurants, bakeries, and handcraft shops that it's hard to choose from.

If you like eating then Ćevapi (shish kebab) is the best part of this place for you, but if you a vegetarian then there is tons of sweet treats for you at Ramis or Baklava Shop. My personal best ćevapi are at Mrkva and 2nd best at Galatasaray. There are tons of stores with local souvenirs, some of them can be really nice pieces of art worthy carrying back home for display. The architecture of the place is melancholic and warm-fuzzy at the same time, evoking feeling of homeyness and comfort, all accompanied by the friendliness of the chatty locals. Love this place 😍!

Simbol of Sarajevo. The Sebilj is a pseudo-Ottoman-style wooden fountain (sebil) in the centre of Baščaršijasquare in Sarajevo built by Mehmed Pasha Kukavica in 1753. for the purpose of ritual cleaning for muslim prayer. It was relocated and redesigned by Austrian architect Alexander Wittek in 1891.[1]
A multi-national collaborative public arts project created a life-size contemporary interpretation of the famous public fountain and landmark in Birmingham, using traditional Bosnian design and craft techniques and combined with modern digital technology.[2][3][4]

There is a replica of Sarajevo's Sebilj in Belgrade, Serbia, donated by the city of Sarajevo in 1989.[5] Another replica in St. Louis, Missouri, in the United States, was donated by the Bosnian community to the city of St. Louis for the city's 250th birthday.[6] A third replica is in Novi Pazar, also a gift from the city of Sarajevo.

Central spot of Sarajevo's old town area.
Great spot for a photo with friends or to have a fresh clean water straight out of the faucet and while you are there you can feed the pigeon's which are like symbol of Sebilj.

As an Asian travelling to Eastern Europe, this area is best representing mixture of cultures. Good and inexpensive food. Spend few hours walking in old market is recommended!

The heart of the city. The water coming out of the pipes is cool, refreshing and drinkable. Take a moment to feel the spirit of the old town. If you are an animal lover, you can feed pidgeons out of your hand at this spot. Also, many pokemon spots and gyms nearby :-)

The monument itself is nice and it is in the middle of a square which is really the heart of the city. There are a lot of restaurants, boutiques, amazing mixture of different people and it is usually crowded
