If you visit Sarajevo, just go. It's not fun, entertaining or anything in that vein but what can we now do but bear witness so that a blind eye is not turned to the atrocities. And when you come out, maybe donate to a really good cause (anything helping Syrians for example or just the museum itself).

This place paints a vivid picture of the horrible atrocities that happened during the wars in Bosnian and Herzegovina. They did a good job laying out the museum so that you walk through in a particular direction, helping add to the story they are telling. There is an entrance fee here.

Definitely come here to get some back story on the the troubles and trials the the locals went through in the past.

Great museum which is quite unique to explain a lot of things in detail what it is like to live in a war zone. The video clip shown in part of the museum, albeit a bit long, will give you a full detail about how people could have survived during the seize which lasted for almost 4 years. Recently opened and poorly funded by the government, it can get some help with more visitors. Totally worth spending a couple of hours if you want to understand the history in recent years in Sarajevo.

A good museum detailing the war crimes committed during the Bosnian War. It is graphic, so it is not for the faint of heart. This museum struggled to even open due to a lack of funding from the state. For the price of your ticket you can also come back again on the next day, so it may be worth splitting up your visit, as the content is very intense.

This museum addresses the topic of atrocities committed during the Bosnian War with a bluntness that helps drive the point home. By the end, I was weary, but I attribute that as a war museum doing a good job of conveying the horrors of war.

Das Museum verleitet dazu sich voyeuristisch Bilder von entstellten und verstümmelten Leichen anzusehen, präsentiert verschiedene Folterinstrumente, erklärt einzelne Konzentrationslager, gibt aber keinen Einblick in einen allgemeinen Hintergrund zum Krieg, wie es dazu überhaupt kommen konnte, etc. Letztlich wenig Informationsgewinn, nur viel Ekel.
Die Ausstellung ist überhaupt nicht für Kinder geeignet. Deswegen erstaunt es mich, dass zwei (Schul-)Kindergruppen in die Ausstellung gelassen wurden, ohne eine Einführung, ohne den Kontext zu erklären. Was sollen sie dabei lernen?
Also ich bin sehr enttäuscht und verstört von dieser Ausstellung.

Small but amazing. Only opened in 2016. Run by college student volunteers and relatives of victims (how it's funded). Def go and donate or buy a book/DVD. The videos of the tribunal could be viewed for hours. It's intense but not overly. One of my fav museums; very accessible. Recommended. With ticket purchase you can have access for 2 days. Well worth it tremendous value.

A very intense exhibition with graphic content wich is not suitable for children. But beside this, the exhibition shows some deep insights of the situation in the concentration camps and the siege of Sarajevo during the bosnian war
