We wanted to change our stay from an apartment to a hotel for better service and we were lucky to stumble upon Hotel Telal while in Sarajevo. Mr. Yasar was very welcoming and cooperative. He not only paid for our taxi from our previous apartment to his hotel, he also arranged an air cooler for our room, added breakfast in our package, gave us a good discount and also drove us back to the airport with no additional charge. A very clean and peaceful hotel. Good for families and kids. The staff is very helpful and run around to meet your needs. Ideally located within 2 minutes walk away from Bascarcjia. I would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Sarajevo. I have left them with great respect and memories.

Day 1: my initial impression is positive. Beautiful wood floors, cute wall lamps, designer curtains. Everything clean and shiny. But at night, I noticed that there is a large water stain on the ceiling and no reading lamp by the bed; the light switch is in the far corner of the room. And in the morning, I discovered that you are pretty much forced to get up at dawn. The second the sun comes up, three things happen at once. The room is flooded with light pouring through the transparent bits of the designer curtains, the loudspeaker from the minaret a stone's throw from my window starts blaring out the call to prayer, and the birds and dogs start going crazy. Then a very short time after that, I learned that the people next door like to have loud sex in the mornings. And a very short time after THAT, I learned that a family of elephants have checked in upstairs.

But now it is 8:11am and quiet. The dogs and birds have quieted down. My neighbors have apparently gone to breakfast. The next call to prayer does not begin until midday. And the room is lovely and peaceful again.
