Took a boat ride for about 20 min to meet the submarine location. Was good but seemed like the reef was unhealthy. No bright colours. Saw lots of fish and a jellyfish. Shipwrecks were neat. There is a slight pressure difference. If you are prone to motion sickness dont go on this tour. There are barf bags that a couple of people needed. No washrooms after you leave shore.

Beware they won't confirm your reservation over the phone if ordered through Expedia. Had to run to get a taxi and get there to confirm it.

Terribly inconvenient and no where does it say that's a thing.

Hopefully they make up for it on the tour and they might earn 2 stars from me.

My husband, parents, and I did this submarine tour as recommended by a family member. We don't typically do excursions or tours because we like to find our own fun, off the beaten path and away from the typical touristy stuff. The staff were nice and engaging, so I would give them 5 stars for the effort. The idea of going into a submarine to see reefs, marine life, and sunken ships was enticing, especially given the recommendation. Butthe submarine was packed with about 50 people uncomfortably seated and crammed together shoulder to shoulder; you cannot move around the submarine and only have about a foot of space in front of you. The reef was ok, although not much more than a few typical fish here and there. Maybe I'm a bit biased because we have snorkeled in the past on a beautiful and colorful coral reef and saw a wide array of awesome fish, turtles, and large barracuda--so with this, seeing the drab coral and the couple of different fish was rather dull and disappointing. The couple sunken ships we went past were ok, although not nearly as exciting as it sounded. I felt super queasy going down and coming up, and I wondered where I'd get sick if I had to because there was literally no room to move (or puke)--I don't ever get sea sick, so be warned if you do. I don't typically leave such negative reviews, but we were all so disappointed with this that I felt the need to post this review for anyone who's on the fence for doing this excursion. Definitely not worth $105 each and it reminded us why we don't typically do these sorts of things while on vacation.

If I could give this zero stars I would. We could've potentially enjoyed this, but there was no age restriction. There were 6 kids under the age of 5 in this small cramped submarine. As you could imagine, young children don't do well in enclosed spaces and it was very tight. It was literally an hour of screaming kids bumping into us. I would not recommend this unless:
1. They change their policy to not permit young children
2. You are that idiot who thinks every place is appropriate for your child.

Don't waste your time or your money!!!

It was a good experience, keep in mind the pictures will not come out like you would see from something underwater that's just the nature of the plexiglass windows I guess.One word of caution try to be the 1st on or the last 1 to get on. What I mean by that is it's very cramped if you are sitting next to 2 large people. If you have the end seats it's almost like the aisle seat in an airplane there's nobody next to you and you have a little bit more Room to move but if you are stuck in the middle that can be very uncomfortable.LOL

Definitely unique and fun experience! Great for kids too.

Some tips, the line for boarding the sub is going to be who you sit next to, and where in the sub you sit. Try to be 1st or at the halfway point 25th (out of 48). This helps you get to the front of the sub so you can see out the front windows as well. A.C. is not anything to write home about, so it will be hot and cramped inside, especially if you sit next to larger folk, so keep that in mind when lining up.

Saw people with little handheld fans which seemed to be a very good idea.

Tons of fun, and the captain narrates and explains what you see. Got to see a few sunken ships too!

Comfortable submarine, no big pressure differences or long waiting time. Only issue was the too loudy noise of the microphone host. Total time under water approximately 45min. Nice shipwrecks and coral.

We had been to Aruba before and would only be in Orangested for a few hours on a New Year's Eve cruise stop. As it turned out, while we were there the weather was awful and it poured. However, since we were in a submarine, it did not matter what the weather was like. You take a small boat to their mooring a few miles away. The boat gets you a little wet, but that was part of the fun. We descended down to about 140 feet and saw tons of marine life, a couple of scuttled ships and lots of coral. Well worth it and definitely worth the not-so-cheap price.

I can't say that was a wow effect, but still an experience that you need to do once. We went with all the family. Very exciting to try guess where the submarine appears. Then it is very unusual to understand that you are deep underwater in this submarine like in a tram, which takes new and new route with new people and how it seems easy. Passing by several of the sunken ship, which are a lot around Aruba is amazing. You can also see coral fish there, but snorkeling experience brings much more in that respect.

This is realy great! You go 138 feet (43 meters) deep. You see great fish and Ships on the bottom of the see. You can see clearly but the best is to go on a bright day with no clouds. The crew is funny and very nice

Me and my husband went on the submarine tour while celebrating our 20 year anniversary in Aruba and we loved it. We recommend this tour. It's for everyone Our tour guide was as friendly as can be and had a great sense of humor. Very informative. We're from Staten Island, NY and she had shared her experience with us when she visted her brother in Staten Island. She was totally awesome and she loved her job. Staff of de Palm tours are very friendly.
