It's good for pool decking

My name is Mark. I started my own decking company over 17 years ago in Victoria called Decking out Melbourne. Approx 4.5 years ago l was introduced to the Newtechwood composite decking board. For 4.5 years l sold this product to literally hundreds of clients. I was so impressed by the board l installed at my own house.

All this changed a little over 12 months ago when l 1st noticed mould on the surface and end grains of my Newtechwood boards. The deck was just over 2 years old, but comes with a 25 year warranty.

I rang the owner Ben and voiced my concerns. Ben’s reply was not what l was expecting. I was told to “high pressure clean it”, which l did, but it still raises a red flag for me as l said to Ben “ it’s not meant to get mould”.

12 months later the issue has arisen again.

I was now told it was a batching issue.

We were offered the price of our board ( as a good will gesture) or a full deck replacement which l rejected as l had lost confidence knowing this should not happen to this type of board.

Would l recommend NTW decking- No way, the post purchase support has proven to not what it is claimed to be and l am still waiting to hear what their response will be.

I have since contacted past clients who also have mould issues.

Excellent quality products especially Newtechwood decking. And staff are very easy to deal with and always willing to help

Really happy with the Ultrashield brand of Decking and Cladding I purchased from UDW. They also supply some pretty cool Grow wall systems.
