I liked the environment,very peaceful and pretty. Attended the event held in the area. Staff however seem to lack customer service as they talked really loudly while taking orders, and kept wanting to take away plates cups etc while we are still eating. Otherwise everything else is fantastic.

What a beautiful place but disappointing service n coffee. I want to go again for the serene river looking view it offers but owners really need to improve the service n quality is asking for courteous smile n good quality coffee big thing???

Don't waste your hard earned money here. Absolute ripoff. Very average food served by polite but very hard to understand staff. Tray had a few cakes and two tiny defrosted party pies on them. Sandwiches were dry on the outside which alludes to them not being covered prior to serving. A pot of tea (1 cup) per person. At $42.50 per person, you would expect more. A shame as we went for Fathers Day.

Arrived and it was a freezing winters day. We had booked an indoor table due to this. They had the whole area open to the outdoor indoor tables and then plastic blinds closed. Why they didn't simply have one half open to that area and therefore have an ". Indoor" warm area I have no idea !! Sat frozen. Popped on a tiny heater that you had to share around table to each get feet warmed for a moment. Bad management !!!!!!! Don't go unless it's summer !!!?

I've been to a lot of high teas in Perth and this is one of the least impressive and not great value. it looks like the owners have a tight reign on the budget judging by their selection of cheap bought in supermarket cakes. Theres also too much sweet and not enough savoury. I'd recommend going to Crown casino or Hyatt. It's not bad but its not great. It's an old open air building situated close to the river but no real views of the river. As its open air it's not suitable in very hot weather or rain. Not much choice of specialist teas & hard to get the staffs attention to top up tea or milk (common high tea problem in most places).

Tranby House has been maintained as a WA Christmas heritage educational gem. Staffs/Volunteers are very friendly and informative regarding to primary school children's excursion. It is all about history of Perth early migrants and how they managed their life without electricity and water. Women who lived in Tranby house had tons of chores to do. Very interesting journey but make sure you have a experienced guide through.
