Wonderful appartements and perfect views.
I'm not sure where all the fantastic reviews came from as we found the property disappointing.
The location of the property was very good. Close to the Harbor and the Esplanade. The Apartment was large, with nice AC and a large balcony with great views of the town and harbor. The Management and Staff were very friendly and helpful. We liked that the property had assigned parking (semi-private garage) but getting the car in and out was very difficult as the space was tight and on a steep hill.
The apartment was in need of repair and updating. Lamp shades were broken, the drapes were covered in dust, window screen had holes and there was a serious ant problem. The shower in the Bedroom had some mold and flooded the entire bathroom when used. The furniture was old, dirty and stained. The washing machine had a slow leak so the basket filled with stagnant water. This gave the place a musty smell at first until we found the problem. Overall a deep cleaning was needed through out. Also, the windows had weak, broken locks and the front door did not have a deadbolt (but funny enough, there was a sticker on the sliding glass door stating to always lock the windows and doors as Airlie Beach has a lot of Visitors), the TV had a weak signal. Internet usage is limited to 500 MB / day / device.
Too Many Flights of Steps.
If you look at the photos of Toscana Resort you will see that the majority of units consist of a garage at ground level with two and even three storeys of units above them. Because there are no elevators, this means that you walk up one, two or even three flights of steps to your designated unit. After struggling up a very steep hill and then an even steeper driveway this does not make for a relaxing holiday.
The other difficult problem is the garages. They were built so narrow that guests frequently park illegally or in front of other peoples garages rather than risk the daunting challenge of parking in their own. The many chips and patched paintwork at the side of almost every single garage are testament to those who tried and failed and paid the price.
The floor in the apartment was filthy (my feet got black just walking around). Being a cheaper place it attracts noisey younger people and bogans. Despite these blemishes I would stay here again. There is a great view and it was quite a bit cheaper than the other places.
Lovely view, nice rooms. Driveway is a bit awkward to drive up and park ob
Loved it - rooms are spacious and comfortable with grest views. Very close to Airlie (walking distance, despite the hill) secured parking and a pool. Really enjoyed our stay.
Great Location and Friendly staff. Cant wait to go back
Great location. Close to all the stores and amentities. Prepare for a steep hike just to walk up the driveway leading to your apartment. You should be somewhat actively fit. It's like that at all the hotel's on the blvd. But we'll worth it for the scenic views of Airlie beach harbour. Place was clean, plenty of room and has washer and dryer. Would definitely stay again.
Views fabulous - very nice pool
Very friendly resort. The accommodation was spacious and the apartments well equipped for holidays
The location was good too, up a hill (good workout for that extra pudding!) but only a couple of minutes walk to everything in central Airlie Beach village
