Best pub steak in Melbourne, hands down. And that’s just a small part of it. The excellent and varied menu, super beer selection, wonderful wines, and friendly staff make this a seriously excellent pub, as good as any in Australia. They take their beer seriously here, so it can be hard to choose from the amazing variety. And the wine list, by glass or bottle, isn’t an afterthought.
Upstairs is a really quirky and enjoyable restaurant, which is great for a serious night out. The decor is amazing, the comfy booths invite a longish stay, and they sell wine by glass, half bottle/carafe and bottle.
Downstairs is the slightly cheaper pub, but the food is no less good than upstairs. Again the range of drinks is great. It has a sheltered smoking area at the back, but I prefer the front bar.

There are no amount of words to describe the atmosphere, staff and food at The Woodlands. Sensational food. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff.
Never experienced this type of service. Both my partner and I left feeling extremely happy. We couldn't find anywhere to have a nice anniversary dinner and stumbled across this amazing place. Will we return. HELL YES!

I recommend Tuesday night quiz night with Master quiz chief in charge Simon, he is very funny and pleasant with it. Food is a bit pricey and the dessert menu could do with an overhaul but, I will score 5* because it is a decent clean and fun place. Another recommendation is to have a beer tasting night as there is so much choice.great to have choice but,

The staff are incredible and very accommodating with BYO cake! Burgers 10/10. The trivia night is a must-do, great questions and great atmosphere all round. Love it.

I love this place however it can be a bit difficult to hear in the main bar area, especially if your hearing isn't great.
Was excited to find a fantastic upstairs dining area on my last visit, same food, same amazing selection of beers. It even keeps with, if not expands upon the eccentric decor.response / report this review -

Nice spot. Staff very pleasant. Parma was not your normal parm It was good, but possibly not great? I dunno, call me a purist? Beer selection covers all bases and the place seems family friendly. Would recommend you check it out.

I just moved to Coburg and decided to have my first meal here. The bad news is that whichever Coburg restaurant comes next has extremely big shoes to fill.
The Woodlands Hotel dished up one of the best - and very generously priced - steaks I've ever had, combined with a great selection of beer and some talented, friendly and welcoming staff.
This is officially my go-to local and if you want to enjoy what I had, go the 300g scotch fillet with onion rings and butter truffle on the side. Make sure you get the butter. It's delicious.response / report this review -

Went for family birthday celebrations and staff were very accommodating allowing us to bring birthday cake which they supplied the plates. Also the food (pulled meat) burgers and chips were excellent. Great service. Well worth a visit excellent.

Upstairs dining room hides a much fancier experience than expected with candlelight and ambient music. Steaks were cooked perfectly and red wine jus just delicious. Good selection of reasonably priced red wines by the glass to pair with the steak. Friendly and efficient service. Great for a romantic date night.

The beer selection and food is boss, you can tell they are passionate about what they do and the vibe is fun and friendly. Newest menu update might just have my FAVE desserts ever. My go to for balanced comfort food
