Stayed over here for the nearby music festival. Lovely welcoming home, comfortable bed, laid back. Stayed in The Blue Room. Recommended.
My husband and I stayed here on our way while travelling in the area. The room we had was upstairs. It was a spacious lovely old room with lovely linens and large comfy bed.
There is a kitchenette which was supplied with some basic needs. (Thankyou) It was well heated and a fire was lit in the afternoon to add to the cosiness of this old home.
There were DVDs to choose from and we were quite comfortable. Although it was a shared Bathroom, no-one else was there at the time so we had the upstairs area to ourselves.
I found a quiet space with a view to sit and read. I would love to come back and stay for longer in this calm atmosphere.
Excellent accommodation, friendly staff, accommodated 2a+3c easily
My wife and I had a really lovely weekend here in April 2014. Margaret ('Grit') was a very welcoming and generous host, she was there when required but left us to ourselves otherwise (Grit lives in a place just down the road). The house is very clean and well maintained, bathrooms were spotless, light and airy, rooms in a similarly good state. At well over 100 years old it must take a lot of work to keep the building in such good condition.
Grit made us a beaut breakfast at the B&B Saturday morning - fresh orange juice, fruit and yogurt, poached eggs on a very nice bread and a nice pot of tea - before we wandered out for the day lazily touring around Braidwood, reading and generally enjoying the vibe of a 175 year old country town. For dinner we found Torpeas just a short stroll away.
The Snow Lion is just about perfect as a weekend getaway, the facilities warm and very clean, the host friendly and the surrounds relaxing.
