  I engaged Pen Accounting to provide complex accounting advice. I had an initial appointment with the principal of the business advising that further research would need to be undertaken in relation to my matter. After a period of 2 months of not receiving a response from the principal of the business at all, I decided to engage another accountant. At the end of the financial year, I received an email from the principal with invoice apparent work undertaken on my matter and also asking when we would be happy for them to prepare our tax returns. When I disputed the invoice, advising that I had to engage another accountant (who were able to finalise my matter in a period of 2 weeks) because I had been practically ghosted by the principal, I was told that the invoice would be revoked as long as I didn't take the matter up with CPA Australia. I assumed that the issue was put to bed, however, I received a payment reminder asking that the invoice be paid. When I contacted the principal, she advised that because she did not hear back from me, that she was withdrawing her offer to revoke the invoice - audacious considering that the entire dispute occurred due to her inability or provide the services she was invoicing me for, along with not corresponding with me for over 2 months.
  
  We paid our invoice after being issued with a letter of demand, where we were also advised that our credit rating would be tarnished for a period of seven years, only to have the principal write to us offering to refund our fees, if we were to remove this review.
  
  Having worked with a number of accountants over the years and being a CPA myself, I am so appalled by the principal's behavior and their dishonest response below, that I have no choice but to proceed with reporting them to CPA Australia.

  The Pen Accounting have COMPLETELY CHANGED MY VIEW ON ACCOUNTING AND ACCOUNTATS!
  
  They allow me to focus on the business side and the creative side.
  They have completely removed my anxiety about accounting, and have become a secret weapon in my business, looking out for better ways for my business to do business.

  I called around a few accounting agencies and had a great talk with Kirsty who explained to me what they could do for me with tax returns and future book keeping. Elodie was assigned to me to help me with my tax returns and they made it very simple and easy to get it completed, and helped me with any questions or concerns I had with the tax return process. Highly recommend their services.

  I have found Kristy so friendly and she gets me as a creative. She is certainly excellent at her job. She works fast and effectively giving me the confidence to go out there and do what I do best. The guidance she has given me in invaluable. I am growing my creative business having the financial goals and systems set up correctly and well. Pen Accounting unravels all the knots. So happy they are my accountants.
