The nicest vegetarian food I've had in some time. Awesome to see a place not use the defaults of risotto or gnocchi and cater some really interesting vego dishes. Aside from that - friendly staff, great wine, awesome set up! Will come again next time I'm in Bendigo 😍😍😍😍

Similar to some others recently...impatient and totally grumpy waiter couldn't be bothered even looking at us while he spoke to us. We brought a couple from Melb for drinks...and were frankly embarrassed. He was super-rushed, gave the distinct impression we were a complete nuisance. We had planned to stay and try a few drinks from the lists...but left after the first. Sad.

    Not very big.

But,if you're looking for a unique place for a drink/food experience, try this!

This restaurant is tucked away in an alley of Bendigo. The food is prepared in a small kitchen but the quality is top notch. A really great experience.

Yeah they might have a massive plethora of beers, but it's all about pecking order. Staff were already catering for a full table of drinkers so had no interest whatsoever in the 4 of us ... They were rolling eyes when we asked questioned about the beers. We got up & left moments later. Heard all about how wonderful this place was, but can't see us ever stepping foot in it again ... Sad really

Great service from a patient knowledgeable bartender. Cocktails are very good according to my wife. The tea was nicely served in a teapot with cup and saucer.

New ownership have made some slight changes and one big one. Service was exceptional, very welcoming without being pretentious. Drinks were great although the once incredible wine and beer list has somewhat diminjshed (unless I missed something which is entirely possible). The kitchen has also changed hands and it shows. We ordered the porthouse and the duck off the mains menu. Our meals were cooked very well but to be honest were amazingly small for a mains menu item and were nothing to write home about. Quite plain fare to be honest, again it was cooked well but lacked enough punch to justify being such a tiny serve. The sizes were also disproportionate as the syeak meal was twice the size of the duck and came with an additional side? The additional green salad we got was so cold that we couldn't actually eat it. Desserts were nice although a bit underwhelming again - the truffles had obviously come out of a freezer as the middle of the dice-sized portions were actually still frozen in the middle when we got them. Overall on the right track but have a ways to go. Would be happy to go back and try again in a few months.

Amazing place. Great, genuinely nice, service. Drink quality and selection is tops and food, while expensive is extremely tasty. You get what you pay for at this awesome venue with a great atmosphere. #samisboss

Very trendy drinks bar down the very trendy Chancery Lane. The Dispensary Diner had great music and a very good selection of above average rums, gins and wines... at a sobering price, of course! The menu, however, wasn't compelling enough to stay for dinner.
