A beautiful Church from which some of the most homophobic slurs have been voiced. Its infamy extends to the threats it voiced on public record n August 2017 to sack gay catholic employees (including teachers) if the yes vote plebsicite for gay marriage were to win. Denis Hart is the priest here who replaced the equally notorious George Pell. Mr Hart lives there but tourists should beware of knocking on his door. I was impressed by Mr Hart's interview on the ABC Lateline program 14th November 2013, when he admitted he had told a woman who knocked on his door to "go to hell b**ch", then immediately adding that he always followed the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Its an amazing building.

Beautiful architecture on the inside, kind of reminded me of some of the cathedrals in Rome. Some tourists are so loud, they just disturd the peacefulness of the place. Worth a look at.

Normal outside but marvelous view inside! The highest and largest cathedral in the south hemisphere. Just go inside and feel the sacredness. I’m an atheist but I still have a strong feeling of the calling from god in this cathedral.

very impressive old craftsmanship on display in ever inch of this Cathedral i only burst into flames 3 times and my eyes stopped gushing blood once i got back in the car this place is so bonzer

Impressive exterior but more amazing interior. Complete procession of Sunday mass that are usually cut short in suburban churches. The outside area is very serene, a good place for prayer or reading.
