  Massive thank you to Jamie and all the staff and other instructors at Southern Cross Yachting! 10/10 experience from booking to sailing to instruction to food whilst onboard.
  
  I’ve gone from beginner, through 3 comp crew weekends, 3 day skipper weekends and finally a coastal skipper qualification with the school including all the theory and managed to fit it in around my busy day job with ease.
  
  Booking is super easy and quick with great response to all emails and questions.
  
  The instruction whilst on the courses has been really incredible with really experienced instructors on every weekend, each bringing their own expertise and personal experiences and stories.
  
  I’ve sailed 4 yachts whilst on the courses giving a wide range of challenges and different learning opportunities and never visited the same place twice on any weekend. I’ve been up the coast to Mooloolaba and down to the Southern end of North Stradbroke and everywhere in between.
  
  As already mentioned the yachts are comfortable and very well stocked with food and snacks.
  
  Absolutely one of the best things I’ve ever done and now I’m addicted to sailing!

  An incredible adventure! The experienced owners Carly & Jamie of SCY were fantastic in booking & organising, the instructor was incredibly knowledgeable & professional, and the boat was amazing. Can’t rate Southern Cross Yachting highly enough- I’m already planning my next lesson

  My son and I have just completed a 5 day Competent Crew Course with SCY. We had the pleasure of sailing with Bror on his classic 46' Swan (Swansong) exploring the Whitsunday Islands.
  Bror is a master of the seas and it was awesome to learn from such an experienced captain. He's also a patient teacher, with my son and I having zero sailing experience Bror taught us well and by the end of the week we now feel confident enough to step aboard a yacht and know what to do as crew.
  Bror was also an excellent host and we shared some fine meals, stories, and laughs together.
  A week of awesome sailing, scenery, beautiful anchorages, even a hike, this was an unforgettable adventure for my son and I.
  I highly recommend Bror and this SCY course, especially in the Whitsundays. Despite our initial nerves and lack of expereience, we loved every minute of it and are keen for more. Thanks Bror!

  Wow, what a sensational experience. Peter, our instructor, was a very experienced and patient coach, understanding that all on board has different levels of experience etc. His guidance throughout the day was brilliant.
  
  Well done on a great experience Southern Cross Yachting, I’ll be back for the next course…..the 5 day course at the Whitsundays.

  I recently completed the Competent Crew course with SCY. An excellent 5 days full of navigation, some 'spicy' conditions, some complex anchoring necessitating a dash into a safe harbor, laughter and joy. Some of the biggest lessons centered around resilience, fatigue and dehydration management and keeping on your feet - in amongst passage planning, navigation, knots, points of sail and the plethora of other elements we covered in the 5 days.
  Simon, our Skipper, was a font of knowledge and an ocean of experience that belies his age. It was a gift to be under his tutelage - he is professional, knowledgeable, patient and understanding , all the qualities of an excellent Skipper and teacher.
  I attended with two Day Skippers and another Competent Crew member which was a wonderful balance of experience and novice.
  Our boat, Dry White, a Beneteau First 40, was well suited for the training role, her deep keel had you thinking twice, and keeping vigilant watch, while maneuvering about the very shallow Moreton Bay - which itself is an incredible place to learn to sail.
  Thanks to Jamie and Simon at SYC. See you again soon as I steer my course towards the Day Skipper qualification.
