  Taxi services are often criticised, often unfairly. This morning, I took a ver clean Silver Service taxi from the inner west of Sydney to the Airport. I left my phone on the back seat and went into check in and realised I no longer had a phone. Driver ID 5711 did a loop around the Domestic Airport and returned my phone to me as I stood out the front of T3 assuming that is where I would be. Thank you for doing that little bit extra - it certainly made my day. Douglas Mills

  There is a very common scam that several taxi drivers appear to be committing.
  
  The scam involves obscuring the trip meter behind a drink bottle or Eftpos machine, so it isn’t visible by the passenger until the end of the trip, at which point the trip is revealed to be about 60-80% higher than normal.
  
  I catch a taxi on a weekly basis and i am very familiar with my usual routes and the price. So when the meter is hidden and the price is inflated by nearly double, it is very obvious what is happening. I can only guess what method they are using the inflate the price, but i’m sure it isn’t complicated.
  
  One such incident happened this morning from a Silver Service driver in Sydney. I refused to pay the inflated fee and he agreed to let me pay the “estimated cost” from the website. (which was about 40% cheaper).
  
  I have reported the incident but have not had a reply.

  If there was less than 1 star I would have given that. I always use Silver service as they are generally a good service. However last Wednesday I took a silver service from International airport to Ibis Budget in ross smith st and this silver driver ( he didn't gave his name) charged me $70 and didn't even give me any receipt. I called silver service but they told me that without the receipt they can't do anything. This is a scam. I will use uber from now on. The taxi number was T4402

  Very impressed with the service from your company this morning. Had the Meriton Mascot book us a taxi for 4.50am. The driver was waiting for us when we arrived to the lobby. He came out and helped with our bags. Drove us to the airport. He was friendly and chatted with us and the car was clean.
  Didn't get the drivers name, but he was a fabulous representative for your company.

  I had just finished a 12 hour day, and I saw a cab with its light on at a cab rank. I tried to open the door but it was locked, then the window on the front passenger side slid down a crack.
  “Where are you going?” He mumbled.
  “Redfern” I reply.
  
  Then the window slid back up. I would have been happy to pay over the standard fair, I just wanted to go home after a hard day at work, but no.
  
  Turns out he wanted a job at the Marriott, because they go to the airport.
  
  This is why people use Uber, cabs have nobody to blame but themselves.
