  The first time I went to Silver's, maybe five years ago now, my car needed a service and I'd had advice from a wheel balancing place,.following a minor prang, that it also needed new brake pads. I let the owner, Jimmy, know, and left for work. Half way through the day I get a call from Jimmy. Fearing the worst, I was surprised and delighted when he told me the brake pads were good for at least another 5,000Km. I'd asked for them to be replaced, he could easily have done the work and charged me for it, I would have been none the wiser. I realised I'd found a mythical rarity - an honest mechanic. I've been going there ever since, and Jimmy always looks after me.
