One of the best bakeries in Canberra, and they know it and charge accordingly. By all means, head to Silo when only the best will do - delicious and beautifully made tarts and pastries, flavoursome and wholesome sourdough breads, and flaky and decadently rich pastries.

Those who are familiar with the Seinfeld episode "The Soup Nazi" will know what I mean when I say there are very great similarities to be found at Silo. Certainly their bread and pastries are superb, but what is the point in going to a place where you are served by arrogant, unfriendly, unhelpful staff - including one of the owners? Time and time again I have been treated with contempt and off-handedness and everyone I speak to about it has had similar experiences, and yet they keep going back. I've had it and will now reluctantly forego Silo's excellent product because of their truly awful, unfriendly, arrogant staff.

Great coffee, a modern and sometimes confronting menu (always delivering brilliant results) and - most importantly - a bakery that's become a true Canberra institution. Great for breakfast, lunch, coffee, and their huge selection of artisanal breads and pastries.

Best bakery in Canberra. Had a very tasty Spanish omelette for breakfast today with a very good coffee. The orange and pistachio snails and the passionfruit tarts are superb

RUDE no matter how polite you are the staff are always rude and abrubt even when not busy. Don't seem to want or enjoy working here if it wasn't for the pasties I would not bother everything is pretty average.

Really good service. We were well looked after. I really liked my omelette. Coffee was average in comparisons to other venues. I generally drink espresso.

Crowded, chaotic and so worth a visit. First rate flavoursome bread and properly made pastry. Know which end of a coffee machine is up!

Been coming here since it opened in the Naughties! Great coffee, great croissants, and an excellent wine list! This desire for huge portions is ludicrous ..Driving obesity epidemic! Small and beautifully formed! For the last 15 years! Well done

Excellent quality bakery items. Appreciate it after the closure of Autolyse. I get pastries and bread on weekends have tried all bakeries within a few minutes of the city; Silo is by far the best quality. There seems a few people rating this place down for minor service problems; I think that's unfair; and possibly due to unrealistic expectations from groups of people expecting restaurant service at what is an extremely busy cafe.

A world class authentic artisanal French bakery in a cute little shop in Kingston. The fact that this amazing place is rated only 3.6 at the moment is pretty typical of the priorities of some Canberra residents. Yes, there is *sometimes* a bit of a wait. Yes, the restaurant is more expensive than some other cafes. Yes, the bread isn't as cheap as some other bakeries. You would have to line up around the block for something of comparable quality in NYC, Paris or Sydney.
