  Radiator had leaks but the engine never overheated. Ryan's replaced the radiator and when we drove away the engine overheated and the radiator spewed water causing it to rain in cairns for 3 days. Returned to Ryan's and they informed us that the head gasket was to blame. They're nice people but now we are $1200 lighter and our holiday is over

  Very good service at Ryan's in Scott Street Cairns, the guys were friendly and efficient and saved us $1,000 as we had been told by our Honda dealer that we needed a new motor for the air intake but Ryan's tecnicians found it was just out of alignment and fixed the problem at no cost. Thanks Ryans we'll be back

  Googled repairs for car air con and this company came up. After reading the reviews and being new to Cairns we set out to find Ryans. We were extremely impressed with the very detailed estimate provided by Peter, not only for the air con but also a full service. Had air con done and a engine service. When we picked up the car Peter had detailed further work that needed to be done to have car in tip top condition. He also provided us with photos showing us what was required.
  Peter's customer service is outstanding, very thorough and value for money. I would recommend this company without hesitation

  After purchasing a radiator with a faulty neck from Rip off Ryan's my hilux's nightmare began. For the last 2 months every time I drive my car I have to top my radiator water up. I have been 6 times back to Ryan's from Kuranda, every time they give me a new radiator cap which they have bent into shape. Even though this is an obvious fault with the neck of the radiator and a simple test proves the cap isn't working, after the last visit I was told to leave and he would not acknowledge that the faulty neck is a problem and has given me another bent cap.
  I have taken the car to 2 other reputable mechanics and they agree that the neck is faulty.
  I will now have to go to pacific radiators who have been highly recommended and pay for another radiator or at least a new tank.
  Don't go to Rip off Ryan's.

  Had aircon compressor replaced 2 years ago. Return twice over period of 12 months as fabricated aircon hose kept failing. Was charged labour and price of new fabricated hose. Now 24 months later to the day - guess what? The compressor wiring failed and compressor is not under warranty! Spent $2,300 with them and back to square one - broken aircon! Nice enough people, but mechanics are not all up to scratch, better places to go to in Cairns.
