We came here for lunch. And by lunch I mean we ordered desert for lunch. It was fantastic. I particularly loved the Sticky Date Pudding.

Cozy and warm atmosphere. Good service and the food was nice.
Had the steak which was ok and the mediranian chicken with roasted veggies which was really good.
Try the local port which has herbal note and was quite nice in the cold weather.response / report this review -

We've been coming to Rubens for years, the pizzas are simply superb and the toppings fresh and the real deal. No fake ham or awful spam, just quality ingredients. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, pastas delish and the staff friendly. Enjoy

Always love eating here, the food is delicious and service is great. Save room for dessert and consider the doughnuts, they're delicious! Gets very busy at dinner time so book ahead if you're going at that time.

Wow. From the friendly staff to the lovely warm atmosphere I was impressed. Then came the food, I was blown away. Everything came out perfect, delicious, with clearly high quality ingredients. Quality chef here. Highly recommended.

Very dissapointing food, gnocchi were nothing like authentic Italian, they were too soft and in a rich heavy sauce turned it into a mash very unplesent to eat, was sticking to my mouth. I asked for salad with no vinegar waitress said will do salad with no dressing, I said I want dressing, oil and salt would be fine, salad was given to me with no dressing was very dry, not very Italian. Had 5 different wattresses who didnt seem to care, was very rushed and unpersonal service.

We are on a mini holiday from WA and popped into Rubens tonight without a reservation. Oh my goodness, what an amazing place! The service was extraordinarily good and the pumpkin and goat's cheese rissotto was simply the best I've had - anywhere in the world!! After eating an outstanding main course, we decided to try the desserts . I chose a vegan blueberry slice. The blueberry slice was so good I really, really wanted another one 😜 (should have done it!!!). We will definitely come back next time we're in Hepburn Springs. Such a wonderful find! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rubens is great, especially if you get the table in front of the fire! They used to offer an alternate menu that was completely gluten free. However, due to new management (i think), they don't have it anymore. I was quite disappointed when I found that out.

The most amazing food in the Daylesford area, this is our favourite restaurant and return here every year just to dine at Rubens. Each and every experience has provided rich, Italian cuisine that simply must be tasted to be believed. You can't go wrong with their selection of steaks, pastas and tapas; or if you're in the mood for takeaway, make sure you grab one of their gourmet pizzas. 10/10, would recommend.
