Great golf course, Top 10 in world. Iconic Design always an enjoyable test. Played the West course, gets better every time I play here.

Phenomenal golf course as you would expect. Not a very welcoming place for visitors. Have had a few exchange days here and the staff tend to be very unfriendly and seem very arrogant and indifferent. I have always believed that the higher the prestige the higher the humility. It would be nice to see this principle adopted at RMGC - matching the world class golf with world class, open and inviting culture.

I played there 25 years ago. My first ever experience of severely fast greens. I thought I'd been on speedy greens at Athens Country Club and Bay Hill, but damn! This was next level (2 extra levels, actually). I played the West Course. Absolutely brilliant layout. Architecturally speaking, probably the only course I've played here that compares is Pinehurst #2. It was truly an honor and a privilege to play Royal Melbourne. One of the 5 greatest courses I've ever played.
Btw--my fellow Americans--Australia is a great country to visit. I hope to return someday. It's a haul to say the least, but do it at least once.response / report this review -
