Cinema in Central Ballarat. Classic decor with modern comfort. Small and large cinemas plus Gold class.
Great art deco cinema. Really charming. Been to the cinema more since I moved to Ballarat because the Regent is such a nice place to watch films. Also reasonably priced. Can't see there being much profit in the actual ticket sales. So they're on the people's side when it comes to making cinema accessible.
The people of Ballarat are incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful, well-serviced and well updated venue in our city.
Love the refurbishments and changes they've made in recent years. The cinemas are always clean, customer service fantastic, and movie range is wide.
Here's to many more years of great movies and service!
You can watch movies here and that's a plus. Not a fan of the newer seats they are putting in certain cinemas, not that comfortable. Gold glass however is nice and the food is also good if your willing to pay the price
I've been going to Regent Cinemas all my life.
The quality and professionalism of the staff and the beauty of the building is of the highest quality. I will always recommend Regent Cinemas.
Cinema 1 is the biggest and greatest cinema around (Outside of IMAX).
Keep up the amazing effort Regent
I ADORE this cinema. Cafe do a surprisingly delicious coffee and have milk substitute options. Discount with a movie club card and a loyalty scheme. The movie club card gives you the very reasonable entry price of $10. The selection of films is good, from blockbusters to indies to special events such as NT: Live and MIFF. Keep up the good work, guys :)
My wife and I have always enjoyed our occasional movie experience at the Regent. Being club members helps of course. The various cinemas are usually clean and the staff helpful on most occasions although there have been a couple of occasions where I really wondered how much training a staff member had had before being let loose on the unsuspecting public.
The 'theatre food' is not great value but it's always pleasant to sit in the cafe next door and enjoy a coffee prior to the movie.
However, my biggest 'beef' is the difficulty in getting a parking space and that is no fault of the Regent. So, all in all, in spite of a couple of interesting experiences over the years, the Regent is a great place to attend the movies.
Extremely disappointing experience, quite surprising given how everything was going until it all fell through.
Attended with my wife, and purchased two tickets for a 3:35 showing, was attended promptly by the staff member and we were quite quickly in Cinema 3 for our movie. We were quite excited, having been trying to get in for a while and life circumstances stopping us. 3:35 rolls past then 3:40
At 3:45 we head out and ask the staff member collecting tickets what was going on, and why it was quiet. Credit to the staff member, he promptly checked and was very apologetic when advising the cinema had not been programmed, and the showing would not be going ahead.
I can excuse the lack of an online booking system (although seriously guys, put a note up or something on the website?). I can excuse the staff - they were very professional and friendly, and the refund was processed without delay or issue. As for forgetting to actually run the movie? Utterly unacceptable. Utterly.
A beautiful cinema, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Can't wait until the new website goes live!
My wife and myself came to see a movie here in cinema 4. The cinema was completely trashed with popcorn and rubbish all over the floor and seats - not even cleaned after the previous movie - or even the day! While waiting for the previous movie to finish, a lady slipped over on a wet floor that was not properly signed, also.
Quite a poor experience for a spend of $50+.
After unsuccessfully trying to book two Gold Class tickets online to see Beauty and The Beast on Saturday 8th April at 6.25 after three attempts, I then tried calling your cinema to book tickets over the phone.
I called once, and after pressing 2, the call went unanswered. I called back a few moments later and spoke with Jordan who then asked that I called back later.
I understand Jordan may have been busy but can I suggest a better experience would be to ask for the customer's contact details and then call the customer back to organise the booking.
This has been a terrible customer service experience.
I've also called and spoke with Egan, who offered an explanation of the website error and that Jordan had not followed internal policies when taking the phone call. An apology was not offered till prompted.
I can only hope that with competition in this market space in the future, that you improve the customer experience.
And please, don't reply with more excuses to the poor experience which i can see if the usual style from others who have made unfavorable reviews. Perhaps use the opportunity to review your processes and procedures and get some complaint handling training.
Well worth a look (even if you don't head to a movie). Old world charm meets the modern era. It has some of those classic features of an old theatre with a range of Movies and international films played there.
All theatres easily accessible for wheelchairs. Only problem is lack of parking. Allow yourself extra time either to wait for a nearby park or drive further down to a public car park and have a brisk walk back.
