Like others have said rooms have fantastic views but they're a little dated, stains on carpets and sofas, could do with deep clean. Breakfast is fairly good. Be aware if you're near the elevators they're loud! Sounds like a plane using reverse thrust but to be fair we haven't asked to move as we're heavy sleepers. Would not stop here again but it seems many do. If you can get a good deal consider it. Note on the sofa picture, the cushion is meant to be the same colour as the base!
Your first stop if staying at Reef View Hotel or Palm Bungalows.
A Great place for families to stay. A bit busy as the restaurant connected to the hotel not only services the people who stay there but also people who stay at other places. Breakfast is a big buffet alot to choose from. Very helpful staff, they are always there for any of you needs or questions.
They collect you and your bags and deliver all to your room. Then later they bought over a beautiful bottle of champagne chocolates and a card to welcome my husband and I.
Nice big rooms. Great view over beach and reef! Great service and transfers and luggage services made the airport transport easy. Only downside was the dated bathroom and the shower that chose its own temperature at random every 30 seconds. Great location and memorable experience.
Great location, Staff very professional and accommodating. Very large rooms, large bathrooms equip with shower and bath
rooms with fantastic views, with balcony, fantastic restaurant. Full buffet breakfast was one of the best that i have had. external lifts with glass walls overlooking Catseye Beach.
Good rates, highly recommend
Very well located hotel with excellent service & views from nearly all rooms.
Room was needing a good clean though in particular the bathroom. The lounge chairs were also too dirty to actually use.
We absolutely love the island & have now been there twice, it would be nice to see the rooms improved though especially given the cost per night. The
Reef View breakfast variety was also good though the noise was a little overwhelming especially when there was also music playing. Some sound boards installed in the ceiling would be a good idea.
Unfortunately I am writing this to express the frustration I have after spending the last 3 days here. With that said, I will make sure that we never book our stay here again nor will we be recommending the Reef View Hotel to anyone.
The poor or rather lack of customer service on the third consecutive day has finally taken its toll. Sadly, we are happy to be leaving early tomorrow morning for our next destination.
The tour desk has failed to communicate truthful information or has entirely failed to communicate with us on multiple occasions. So much so, that we have not been able to see what the island has to offer.
For instance, we spent an entire morning waiting down by the Marina awaiting a tour. I called the Tour Desk several times in the meantime and I was assured the cruise was till happening. On the third call to the Tour Desk, then I was informed it was canceled after waiting over an hour at the Marina. At this point, the Tour Desk blamed "Explore" and said we needed to speak to them but after speaking with Explore and wasting the entire morning, Explore was not the operations to our excursion. At this point, we missed all of the available cruises that were scheduled that morning because we were misinformed by the hotel staff.
The next day, we were told by the Tour Desk all the tours were cancelled and we could not book anything due to the weather. But as we had lunch at the Marina, we saw numerous boats going into and out of the harbor. I stopped into one of the operations and asked about some of the tours, particularly the tour I had tried to book this morning with the Tour Desk but was told "No". The operations said the tour was not cancelled and there was many tours that had gone out this morning. This news was very shocking and upsetting.
We relied on the Tour Desk to help make our trip memorable but we're given false and misleading information on multiple occasions and have ended up wasting our entire trip here. Not to mention the Tour Desk manager, Lucy who gave a poor explaination and excuse for the staff's role in our trip and offered a very unapologetic "things happen" during a brief phone call I had after said unfortunate events.
We have missed out greatly here and chances to see such an amazing place are hard to come by but the memories taken from these past days will not be missed.
Sincerely,
Stephanie M. Swasey
Best buffet breakfast. Love the omelettes. Love the pool, love the gym, love the departure lounge, love the bar, love the view from my room. However they should have a loyalty program cos i go every year.👍 kids eat free is excellent.
Great hotel. Children friendly. Great location. Cool lifts . Fantastic staff. Nice restaurant downstairs with good coffee! I love this hotel so much!
Hamilton Island is a very beautiful island. The Hotel was a nice stay for our 3 days. The service was pleasant. Unfortunately the lift was noisy in our room. All in all the whole Hotel could be a little bit cleaner.
We are here staying 4 nights and love it! The room is large and the view over the beach is fantastic. The breakfast buffet is really good value and the staff have all been exceptional. It is super close to golf cart hire (the island mode of transport) but it's also just as easy to walk to all the shops and attractions. The outdoor elevators are also very cool. We also made full use of complimentary baby accessory hire. The staff bring your bags up to your room and all the baby gear we'd elected for (pram, Bumbo, cot, bouncer, bath & high chair) was waiting for us in our room. The walls are thick and the balcony blinds combine for a lovely sleep free from noise. It's also super convenient that you can charge purchases to your room, from most places on the island! Very happy with the services and activities available. Great environment for some real relaxing.
We arrived few weeks after cyclone Debbye and even considering the devastation left the Hotel did great. We originally booked a garden view room which has been upgraded to a reef view one. In addition we have been given a 300 dollars credit to spend within the island.
The complex is very clean and staff prepared and friendly.
Well done.
Absolutely we would come again
Highly recommended
Simple and clean. The most beautiful views. Don't leave the door open or the cockatoos will help themselves to your room
Its purely holiday destination place.i stayed at 16 floor.only sea view was in vision.amazing.peaceful ,natural n happening place.breakfast had enough variety of spread .buggy time was memorable.free shuttle bus by resort is great option for tourist.at scenic view n to reach at jetty point blue n green bus facility to helpful for tourist.i loved the place and ll surely visit next time
We celebrated our anniversary in Hamilton and stayed in Reef View Hotel for 5 days. We landed early so we had to wait til 2pm checkin time but before then, the room was already available. The moment I saw the room and the view, I knew the trip would be memorable. The room has enough space for us and I’m just really glad to wake up to the stunning view of the sea.
The staff were also nice, we had our room cleaned up almost every day! Also, they had a little romantic gesture on the day of our anniv, giving us complimentary wine and chocolates I could not have asked for any other place than reef view. There are shuttles scheduled so going around the island isn’t much of a hassle. The breakfast food is okay too, you can also have your breakfast on other venues c/o of reef view hotel. I loved that we decided to stay in this hotel. Just a friendly reminder, never leave your windows open, the birds (cockatoos) are sneaky! But we love seeing them too!
Room service was excellent. Staff were very polite and happy. The buffet breakfast was very generous! Rooms are large and have good facilities. The pool is clean and constantly serviced.
