A really good market with a long history. Still the go to market for the serious fresh food shopper.
Great place to catch a quick bite.
Do not go to this stall!!! They short changed me $5 she kept saying I gave her big coins not small $2 coins (I can count) and then laughed in my face. Shame on her. Racist. She proceeded to talk in Mandarin, not realizing I could speak it (my grandparents are Chinese although I look European) and called me a white fool.
I have to say I have been in here more then a few times and tried different things and each time i have been disappointed. For one the prices are not great compared to the portion sizes you get, almost all of the shops are cash only, which is a real pain in the butt in 2016. I tell people not to bother going in this section of the market, There are lots of other places in the market with great food, good prices, and good service close by.
Good mix of fresh and preserved food. Loved the burek Nice for a visit and a bite but if you've been to any country where open markets exist you won't be overly impressed.
The best market in Australia with all fresh produce available at a good price. I always visit when I come to Melbourne.
Such an integral part of the QVM and always buzzing with life. Quality and service varies greatly between shops, but that's part of the fun in finding your regular.
A good selection of different food option available here. I've the Sri Lankan Kothu and chai tea and it was yummy.
