Story time -
I’ll keep it as short as I can; for a very long time I’ve been self conscious about my teeth. This has prevented me from smiling “with teeth” in years and years and years. Every single time I was around people - happy, laughing and having a good time, I had to be cautious of how I laughed and how I looked laughing and if my teeth were showing etc, so I would always cover my mouth or look down or look away and laugh.. just in case someone saw my teeth. Sad, I know. It become such a natural habit for me though - muscle memory if you will. It would always be playing in the back of my mind and affected almost every decision I made. It prevented me from going and experiencing things because I felt like I couldn’t fully enjoy myself. I would always see people laughing and smiling and seeing their gorgeous, beautiful teeth and big smiles, and I wanted it so bad. Anyone I ever spoke to I would always find myself looking at their teeth above anything else, and out of envy of course. But I guess it’s because for some people they look for their own insecurities in others and compare themselves to others. Not a healthy way to live life, I can assure you. Anyways, eventually I got so self conscious I just avoided a lot of situations altogether; dates, friend gatherings, stepping out of my confit zone etc. But, fast forward to how confident and happy I feel now and it’s all because of Prevent Dental - my wonderful Dentist, to which my gratitude goes out to Dr Krish Jidige and his incredible work, and of course his lovely Dental Assistants and their lovely admin lady. As far as the service, it was fine. However I went in to get my gums checked as I was having issues. Got quoted over $2k, after rebates, to have it all fixed. I said I would go and try and work on the cash. The dentist was insisting on booking me in, even though I said I would call them back to get after I get the cash sorted to pay for it all. I felt very pushed to book in. One of the things they wanted to do was remove a filling that they stated doesn't last for more than 7 (?) years, even though it has been there for 33 years.
I went to another dentists and got the work done for OOPs of $190, they didn't need to remove the old filling as they said it would likely last another 30 years.
I felt the dentist who saw me was pushing for money and not really considering the patients financial situation. Very pushy, definitely will not return.response / report this review -

My mum has early onset dementia and Alzheimer’s and has low verbal and comprehensive communication so we chose Prevent as they specialise in special care and boy did they! They were kind, caring and understanding. Mum did an amazing job as did the staff and dentist. We will always choose to use Prevent from now on as we have had bad experiences with larger chain dentists! Thank you so much for making a difficult process a stress free one today. You are all amazing!

From the excellent service at reception to the competent, professional and friendly care from the dental nurse and Dr Krish, I can recommend you visit Prevent Dental in Kallangur. Very reasonable fees for me, which was a great help given I have no private health cover. A bonus is the easy access from Anzac Ave with ample parking.
