Amazing restaurant! It's also an art gallery, with beautiful paintings. They will tell you things about the fossiles your can find around. Food is good
Novel "feral" food, excellent. Emu burger and quandong tart, tasty. Points off for the expense, $40 for burger, a small tart and a can of doft drink. Would never pay that much for food, but how often do you get to eat emu?
Excellent food. Had emu, camel, kangaroo and more well-cooked quality Aussie food. Family friendly and lovely staff. Amazing seating.
Really fun restaurant serving up all sorts of ferel treats. Big with tour groups but there is plenty of space in the restaurant for heading in with no reservation at lunch.
The food here was delicious. My husband had a some "feral food" a camel silverside burger and I had the chicken Caesar burger and we both agreed that they were probably the best burgers we've ever had (except for in & out in the US). There were so many flies here (more than everywhere else) but that can't be helped, it's the outback. Wish we took a photo of our food but we didn't want to share with the flies. Only thing was they didn't have highchairs? Which seems weird for a pub not to have them. We didn't stay very long due to baby needing a sleep but our quick visit didn't disappoint.
Not what we were looking for, at all. If you went to an oasis and the only water available was Perrier (and heavily marked up at that), you would feel like we did here. We needed a solid pub meal, and what we got were overpriced dainties. If you have a serious hunger particularly avoid the mixed grill. At almost $40 you would expect a very solid plate of food, but it's light compared to even a standard pub mixed grill. We felt ripped off, but appreciate that others want a "Glebe experience" when they go to the outback.
Suggestion to the owners: introduce a "bar menu" for those travelers who need a solid, square meal at a reasonable price.
Comfortable bed, big rooms, awesome food in the restaurant. Try the FMG!!!
Things to fix:
Hot water out of cold water tap unless you let it run for 5 min. (Makes the shower to hot)
Breakfast not included.
Cant set temperature in room yourself.
Great food, ambience and staff. Well worth dropping in for a burger or platter with your selection of feral or native meats.
Very limited menu, quality of food was good but a bit pricey. If you are looking for a typical pub meal this isn't the place to go
People apparently fly in from all over Australia to try what they call "feral food". Dishes are made from quality products of the area and include Emu, kangaroo and native quandongs (otherwise known as wild peach).
Great meal great service
What an oasis this is, beautiful interior, the dining rooms are also a gallery. The bar has a wonderful country charm and friendly service. The outside has kept it's outback country pub look with outdoor seating at the front of the pub a fire.
