We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to spend a cold winters weekend away.

Adorned with all the essentials and a lot lot more, No.1 William Street was nothing short of magnificent. Warm, cosy and comforting in every way, from the open fire, spacious kitchen, comfortable beds, immaculate interior decoration and tiny treats left for guests, we were tempted to never leave.

It was our first time in Port Fairy and not only did we fall in love with the town but the accommodation exceeded all of our expectations, a beautiful cottage with everything you needed for a romantic weekend away. The fridge was stocked for breakfast and the jar of Port Fairy Yo Yo’s left by the kettle was a very nice touch, it was like you were going to your own holiday house. The cottage is walking distance to town and the restaurants and local pubs offered fabulous food. The Australia Day festivities kept us entertained for the whole weekend with local bands, craft and produce market, outdoor cinema for the kids, surfing competition and 2 ladies on a horseback in Australia day costumes parading up and down the street. The character and charm of this house set the perfect scene for a night sitting by the fire place with a glass of wine and a plate of cheese and biscuits. The house offers 3 bedrooms and has adequate room for a whole family or a few couples. To park our car on our arrival and not get back in it till we were driving home was an added bonus. Can’t wait to go back we hope to make it an annual event.
