  I have contacted mortgage choice to help out with an application for a new home loan. They are very slow at responding and putting everything together to lodge an application. It has been over 2 months since we applied for a preapproval and I am yet to receive preapproval. I was promised between 5-10 working days. They do not follow up with the banks and chase them.
  
  Also they never pick up your phone calls or give you a call back if they know its you chasing or looking for an update. I have called them on numerous occasions and even texted them but no returns at all.
  
  With no update from them, I am still waiting for an preapproval not knowing what stage things are at.

  Just want to share a bit of our experience with Sanjay as a mortgage broker.As a first home buyer it is very nerve wrecking especially when u encounter some hiccups along the process.He was very thorough with his explanations even from the start. There were some circumstances when I would get frustrated with the process and with Sanjay though.Yes with Sanjay,I had some issues with him unable to respond in timely manner.I realised he is that kind of broker who does NOT sugar coat things just to make u feel better or just for u to hear what u want to hear.He is very factual but he can be very busy too. One time I have to go to the bank myself to get an update from them when it was taking too long for a decision and one of the employee said that Sanjay is definitely one of the great broker but he can get very busy as he has heaps heaps of clients.All I am saying is if he doesn’t respond,yes maybe due to him being very busy or just plainly the bank does not have a respond for you.Sanjay does not like to talk to you without accurate information. He is very professional,well mannered and very patient with me and our case. It was unbelievably tideous process to a point the assessor questioned the ins and outs of our money on a specific time frame 1-2 years ago!! But he did fight for us,figuratively and literally in order for us to get our righful result. We got our land and now we are ready for the construction of our first home here in Australia. I may have some issues with his responsiveness but surely I have to give him his well deserved credit for being a great broker.

  I had a terrible experience with Sanjay Singh. He didn't return my phone calls and emails sometimes for weeks at a time during the process, and several times he failed to give me important information I needed for the next stage, causing more and more delays. In the end I had to contact the bank directly to finalise the settlement, as Sanjay was unavailable and had not told me about the last piece of documentation required, which the bank said he should have told me even before they sent the loan documents. My loan eventually settled - only after my direct intervention with the bank - more than 2.5 months after I first contacted Sanjay, and 3 weeks after my fixed loan with my existing bank had rolled to a standard variable rate of 4.44%.
  In addition to the significant stress and anxiety Sanjay caused me through this process due to his lack of availability and the lack of advice he should have provided in his role as mortgage broker, he cost me more than $700 in the additional interest I had to pay because the whole process took so long. And of course he still got 100% of the commission.
  I have seen in other negative reviews Sanjay has blamed the banks, but in my case the delays were 100% due to Sanjay's actions - or rather, lack of action. The banks actually processed everything quite quickly once it got to them. My experience was so bad that I lodged a complaint with Mortgage Choice Head Office, and their Compliance Manager agreed that Sanjay's actions in my case were unacceptable. So he can't honestly blame anyone else.
  Next time I would work with a bank directly, it would have been much quicker and easier, and it wouldn't have cost me $700.
