  I couldn't recommend MKF enough. Even if you are unsure, as I was, I made contact with a brief summary of my position and we had a meeting to discuss what would likely unfold if I took this further. It was one of the best life decisions I have ever made. Floyd Bakewell is clearly an expert in his field who is trustworthy, hardworking and compassionate. I felt very supported and empowered throughout the process and was encouraged to make the best decisions for me, given my unique personal circumstances. The outcome received far excelled my initial hopes and expectations, largely because Floyd is incredible at what he does, fighting my corner until the end. Thank you, Floyd, for changing my life for the better.

  Mr Bakewell represented me in a protracted and convoluted matter where I engaged in the Australian Catholic Church's internal professional standards complaint process called, ironically, "Towards Healing". The matter involved grievous historical sexual abuse. The Catholics promised the resolution of an incredibly harmful series of events using the principles of restorative justice that we saw highlighted in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission that brought to light the evils of Apartheid in South Africa. The Catholic "machine" unexpectedly engaged their formidable legal team as the matter was reaching its conclusion. Suddenly the matter became adversarial. I can't believe that my good fortune lead me to Mr Bakewell when I reached out for help. The Catholic machine used legal means to draw out the process in the hope that I would withdraw my allegations so they could avoid reasonable, commensurate reparation for the harm multiple perpetrators had done. Mr Bakewell literally and figuratively stood between me and a deliberate strategic gambit by the Catholic Church to re-traumatise me so I would withdraw my complaint. With skill, thoroughness, kindness and sensitivity Floyd out-manoeuvred their legal team and won a result that was three-fold what I expected through the National Redress Scheme. Thank you, Floyd Bakewell. Your humanity, trauma-informed practice and dogged advocacy secured a result that kept me safe and resulted in my vindication. Floyd represented me when he was working as a senior practitioner with another highly respected firm before he saw the need to further his vocation as a founding partner with MKF. I applaud this move as it now allows him to focus his considerable skill and kindness in the area of legal practice that desperately needs people who can take the fight up to the big end of town. Thanks Floyd. The Catholics falsely promised "Towards Healing". You called them to account and I was given justice and a chance at making my own way toward healing.

  We recently required legal advice and action to resolve an issue which needed to be dealt with promptly. Legal issue can be a minefield and very stressful.
  We contacted MKF Katie and got the advice and action. It was prompt, professional and more importantly Katie understood our concerns from our point of view. What a relief.
