CASUAL DINING IN PUB-LIKE ENVIRONMENT
Large bar and casual eatery in South Wharf.
Good range of meat, pasta and vegetarian dishes.
Indoor and outdoor tables as well as long benches for group drinking / dining. Staff are friendly.
Service is not exactly fast so probably not a good option for that quick bite.
All on one level with no steps so people with mobility issues should be fine.

Cannot recommend this establishment highly enough.
My family had a Sat night dinner here and was greeted by a super friendly and amusing matre d. The food was of a very high standard and no one could fault anything. Service was amazing and we are looking forward to heading back to go through the menu. Thanks for a great experience. Well done.

We have often popped into Melbourne Cellar Door for a drink and nibbles and always loved the warm atmosphere and relaxed vibe. For this reason we thought it would be a great venue for our small (30 people), low-key wedding function. From the moment I first emailed Melbourne Cellar Door to enquire, until the moment our evening ended, everything was simple, stress free and nothing was too much trouble. We had such an amazing night - it was exactly what we wanted and more! The food was amazing and the service great. I couldn’t fault anything if I tried!

What a fabulous place to visit on a Sunday afternoon. It starts with amazing service with great food advice from the staff. There is plenty of seating inside and out and a number of different areas to sit and enjoy your wine and food. When you have finished, don’t forget to pick up some aged wine or some craft beer from the big selection. You can also grab nibbles, pasta and the best of all..lollies. You must visit Melbourne Cellar door before or after a day’s shopping at DFO or simply pop in for lunch.

We went last night for my friend’s birthday dinner, I booked a table online and I am glad I did because even though it was a Friday, it was really busy. The service was wonderful and the food was amazing. We had dim sum to start followed by several different dishes and everything was gorgeous. The decor is quirky and inviting and we immediately felt comfortable. I love that the menu is quite small and uncomplicated. We chose several starter dishes and two main dishes, which was plenty to fill us up - This is not your “run of the mill” Aussie food. Everything is cooked fresh and you can taste the difference in comparison to some other restaurants The price was very reasonable too, we were a party of 6 and it was just over $50 a head including our drinks. The food was excellent and unusually the menu was concise with enough choice to satisfy most tastes and the mains faultless. All in all a very pleasant meal. The atmosphere was great along with the decor, thank you for a lovely evening, we will be back soon! It’s really great to visit you and we will surely come back again.
